Hello - does anyone know how often Skoda email to let you know about the progress of factory car order? I have had an email saying 'order received' and the dealer said I could expect weekly email updates. Does this sound right from the experience of others?

From my experience with just the one order, grand total of zero updates. However I found Skoda chat really helpful, I didn't have an order number but gave order details where and what etc and they found my order and gave me updates and the order number.

Just for info, we ordered a factory build at the end of August and have been told by the dealer it should be ready by the end of next week as it is now built and in the UK.

Was quoted mid December for delivery but it looks like it is much quicker.

I placed an order at the end of July and got the same email  you did.  I picked my car up a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't received any further email updates.  Through a combination of my dealer and Skoda chat I knew what was happening.  I did feed back to Skoda that I was disappointed that I was promised email updates and didn't get any.

I had to rely on Skoda live chat for info, as the dealer promised 2 weekly updates never transpired.

I also sent feedback to Skoda that I was disappointed with the lack of my order updates. That was 2 years ago, so looks like it fell on deaf ears

Thanks all for your info on recent timescales for delivery from order - if only I could find the Skoda live chat feature - I have tried multiple browsers but the pop-up on the contact page never seems to appear

Just tried it a few seconds ago on iPad and chat came up after a few seconds, chat connection appears just above the arrow pointing up at bottom right of page

Lucky you even got an email saying order received.

When the dealer phoned to let us know the car was in the Uk she first asked what updates I had received about our order from the person who sold us the car and my response was nothing from the dealer since I emailed the signed order form to her at the end of August. 
Not sure they are up to speed on keeping customers informed about things.

We had exactly the same - Ordered a Kodiaq Sportline 24th August (Our First Skoda)- Had and Email 11th Sept confirming we've received your order - Nothing since and no communication from the dealer (Dartford Motor line)- Despite sending 2 emails asking for an update from the dealer. Used the Live Chat to be told car is already built and at the Port in Emden..... Not great customer services at all! 

Just checked with Skoda chat and mine is still at a UK port, arrived there 24/9

Presumably if it is in a UK port then you may be able to chase the dealer to expedite delivery?

Just spoke to dealer and they hope it will be delivered this week, scheduled delivery is 29/10 so I can`t moan too much

 Spoke to dealer today and still no sign of car being delivered. Asked him to chase it up as had been in UK port since 24/9. Dealer called back and according to dealer: There had been a glitch in the Skoda system ( not the dealers fault) and my car had not been allocated a delivery date for transport to the dealer. Skoda had now rectified this and my car had been given priority and should, he hoped, be delivered this Monday.

Anyway he promised to call me Monday to confirm, or not, delivery and I would pick up later in week. If allowed out of country (Wales)

 

Not best of starts with Skoda 

I purchased in Sept and am being quoted April 2021 for delivery! This seems unfaesibly long - just wondering if others have similar lead times quoted.

From what I have read on here and my order it’s usually about 12 weeks. Maybe ask Skoda chat to check or query with dealer. Seems a long lead time.

The dealer is still stating next month (as estimated on the order) but skoda chat stating April. Not sure who to believe.

A year ago the average delivery was 6 months - that increased to 9 months for the 2.0TDI 190 BHP Engine...

 

I suspect Covid reduced wait time initially - but could be that the supply pipe of parts is low...  There is for example a shortage of Stainless Steel - used on the Cylinder Head Gaskets - as the mills shut for three months - everyone predicted the industry would be down for 3 months then low volumes the rest of the year... but the market came back stronger than expected (whether real or not?) and the supply chain is struggling to speed back up as the upturn was faster than initially predicted.

 

 

Ordered my 2.0 TSI SEL on 7th September, it was built and put on train from the factory to Emden on Fri 16th October.

 

Skoda are estimating a maximum of three to four weeks for delivery to the dealership as there’s a backlog in the docks in Germany and Sheerness to clear.

Mine was delivered to dealership today- had been in UK port since 24/9 due to a "glitch in Skoda system" or maybe backlog in port as yours

We ordered our sport-line on the 24th August- had confirmation from the live chat today that it arrived in the Uk port on the 13th October and they said it can be there up-to 10 days before going to dealer. 

Got a call this morning with an update that the car is in Sheerness already! That’s impressive considering it was built last week. Car should be with us within ten days according to dealer.
