I found lurve ...

Featured Replies

Well, I did it.

I "just popped in" to "just have a look" in Mitchells, West Kirby, on the off chance that they had a second hand vRS lying on the forecourt.

They didn't, but a little man on the end of the salesmans phone did ... and what do you know, I'm now the thick-end of twelve grand lighter. Excellent

I pick it up next wednesday (all being well), and I can't wait. It's going to be a long week methinks.

From a very smiley Chris.

Excellent.

What colour is it. When are you getting in Jabba'd :D

Steve

congrats! :D

It's black, totally standard, with 11k on the clock. It was sourced from Skoda, as far as I know.

Regarding the chip, I'm going to hang on until I get over the shock of what I just did before I do anything to it.

Except a decent exhaust tailpipe perhaps ...

Chris :drive:

Another Wirral based VRS.

Hooray!!!!!!

The more that are up there, the better. wink.gif

Is the standard exhaust no good? Suposed to be stainless steel?

Hi Paul,

to be honest, I can't offer a proper opinion, because I haven't driven the car yet, but I'm not keen on the flattened oval shape, and I suspect that Skoda will have, understandably, erred on the quiet side when they fitted it as original equipment.

So even if it probably will fall off quicker than the standard item, I still fancy one, and it won't break the bank. Anyone have a recommendation for a new rear box etc, snorty but not ridiculous?

Chris

6 days to go, not that I'm counting. Much.

:mw:

The standard exhaust is standard steel. I have my old one in the garage and it has started rusting quiet nicely where the backbox hanger is.

An excellent read, particularly for an Octy 'newbie' like little ol' me ...

I downloaded it a couple of days ago, but hadn't got around to burying my nose in it yet. Having sat up in bed reading it last night, my Missus is now fully convinced that I'm obsessed :D

5 1/2 days and still counting ...

Hi, I'm from the Wirral too but I don't drive a Skoda, it's a Focus TDCi Sport. My Dad drives a Fabia vRS. We both got our cars in September. This is my first reason for posting, he's dealt with Mitchells for a number of years now and they have to be the best car dealership I've ever known so you're in good hands... the second reason is that he has only seen one other Fab vRS on Wirral and it was black, he saw it in Heswall a couple of weeks ago, his is silver. I was just wondering if that was you spinndrift?

Apologies for being an imposter, but I read these forums daily, all since I came to get some info for my Dad about ESP... and I do actually love Skodas! I'd have had a Fab vRS with him if it wasn't for the poor trade in I was being offered on my old car, the shocking APR rate for my finance plan and the fact I got my Focus with a German spec for

Liam, you are far from being an imposter if you are interested enough in this site to visit it daily. Indeed, you are very welcome as a member. :)

Thanks Denis... :)

Chris when on Wednesday are you picking the Octy up?

The Furby is in Mitchells for the day on Wednesday to be tinkered with.

Liam - if the black Furby your dad saw had a BRISKODA sticker in the rear window it would have been mine, Peter the service manger at Mitchells also has a black one too. I'll have to keep an eye out for your dad!!!!

I was suppposed to be picking it up around five o'clock, by sneaking off work a bit early.

Trouble is, as usual, someone has thrown a spanner in the works. Big Styleee.

The HSBC promised that the necessary funds to make up the purchase cost would be in our account yesterday morning, and they never turned up. After several phone calls to find the right person to talk to (don't you hate call-centres?), it would appear that they've 'lost' some paperwork that we signed.

So now I have to make a humiliating phone call to Mitchells and ask if they can hang on 'til Friday morning perhaps (I've got the day off for a wedding) or Saturday. Deeply depressing.

Oh, and the insurance documents never turned up either, as 'promised' by my broker .... :mad2:

Chris

That's a major bummer Chris - it will be worth the wait though mate. :(

It'll definitely be worth the wait and Mitchells are easy going anyway so don't worry... then on Friday, you can say "What wedding's this love? You never told me!" or Saturday, you can say "Shopping? Wha'?"... and go out for a blast!

I'm gonna have to watch out for any vRS's up my backside on the Wirral, and although my car is quick I think it'd be safer to let you two past... :)

was coming home from Warrington around midnight a week last Friday and had this bloody Focus up my backside all the way along the A57 and onto the M62 - thought I'd teach him a lesson but he kept up until I had to give up at a silly speed.

I was gutted then noticed it was an RS!!!!!!!

We'll only being friendly if we're behind you!!!

Chris.

I presume your motor is the OU51 sat at Mitchells.

Very nice mate and according to Colin you're a nice chap too!!!!

OU51 ? Let me guess... first registered by Merritts?
