No4 injector fails at 117,000, not cheap but RAC fetching and fitting to get back working

Had car 2 years from 80,000 miles

Is £580 inc vat and fitting bad?

RAC fetching from TPS

Stuck in the middle of nowhere

Car had "the fix" in 2017 at 70,000 miles

Hope the other 3 last

Did you get any symptoms or just a spontaneous breakdown? What’s the “fix”?

the "fix" is the VAG emissions update

at 7am it started as normal but for 1 x 1 second "chug" then ran for an hour/60 miles

then the coil light came on, then the EML

Aren’t the VAG 1.6 tdi engines known to have issues, perhaps this is one of them?

We had for 4 Caddy's at work at one stage, 2x 63 plate and 2x 15 plates, all once over 100k have had at least 1 injector,  a 15 plate one had 2 within 3 months and glow plugs on all 4, the newer ones appeared to be more susceptible to the faults.

None showed any signs beforehand, fine one day, duff the next
