OBD11

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some advice. I'm thinking of buying the OBD11 and was wondering of its worth it? I've never had any kind of diagnostic tool before, so a complete novice. I've got a 2010 Octavia Scout and a 2014 Octavia Elegance so thought it would come in handy.

Any advice would be grand, also which version is best?

It can identify faults for you, but I don't think most people buy it for that as most will still have to get a garage to cure the fault.

It's main attraction for me is that you can customise the car's software with it - such as changing the volume of the Soundaktor gimmick, changing the number of flashes when you flick the indicator, etc.

You can do this with the basic Mk1  version as long as you are happy to use pre-programmed 'apps' to do it, and are willing to watch a few short adverts to earn 'credits' to use the app. Or you can buy the PRO version at an extra cost which lets you do your own programming of the software.

You can check what it will do on your cars by going to their website: https://obdeleven.com/en/

Thanks. Had a quick look. Seems it should be able to turn on the DRLs on the scout

I have one of the first generation (white) Pro versions.

Best value is to buy the basic version for £40 and activate the Pro package through the app for approx £25, works out cheaper than buying a ready activated Pro version.

The newer generation (black) can be used with Ios rather than just Android and will in future be compatible with other brands (think BMW is coming soon) whereas the first gen will only ever work with VW group.

I've used it to activate a few nice features on my Superb as well as scan for faults and clear fault codes, overall found it a decent easy to use product.
