Skoda Fabia discontinued

Featured Replies

According to Carwow factory orders are no longer possible, stock cars only.

There will  be some good bargains to be had no doubt.

Hi Rick

Did you speak to someone at Carwow for that info? The Carwow website shows orders are available as does the Skoda UK website. Normally they discontinue a model as the next model becomes available. The Fabia MK IV  is not due till well into next year. I ask because I am interested in ordering a DSG Estate but not sure whether to wait for the Mk IV.

It appears the 1 litre tsi 110 is stock only

But lower power 95 ps version is currently listed (although listing may be not updated)

Oddly VW and Seat seem to have this engine listed as 115 (or sometimes 113 on tech specs), rather than 110

They had that management /map for the different engine output of 113 / 115 ps and with a GPF and got the WLTP / RDE and if they have RDE2 then they are selling them.

Skoda is getting ready to have 1.0 & 1.5 TSI's with DSG's only when they are Mild Hybrid.

Fabia's might well not be that important other than where they actually help in getting the Average Co2 g/km down for the brand.

You may never get one. No longer do a DSG Mk3 Estate. And no plan of yet to do a MK4 one. Plus only 1ltr Tsi & Mpi in MK4.

Fabia is not going Hybrid or plug in with the MK4.

So when we see actual MK4 all new Fabias in showrooms we will know.  That will be about 7 th generation ones after the Fabia, then mk 2 and 3 and face lifts.    They have had since 1999 to get them perfect before they no longer can sell pure ICE cars in 2030 in the UK.

If you are in the market for a used model I currently have a June 19 registered 1.0 SEL Estate in Denim Blue only 7800 miles.  The car would be available mid January when my new Kodiaq hopefully arrives.  My car has an Amundsen Nav unit, ACC, reversing camera and other extras

Thanks for the offer but I am due a new car this time!

It seems that plans might have changed, part of the reason for relocating the Superb to the VW Bratislava factory in 2022, is to free up space for a Fabia wagon (the estate version), so appears will be estate version of Mk4

Timescales would appear to be early 2022, so I suspect the mk3 will continue about 10 months (although range might get rationalised in meantime

So the one thing that is certain is that there is no real timeline or plan and VW Group can drop ideas and plans in such an uncertain world.

Hmm, sounds a bit ominous. The reason I went Skoda in the first place (2010) was a perception that I would get a reliable car at a competitive price. Since then they keep on adding more bells and whistles and the price follows. I may well have to look elsewhere next time because I have no use for bells and whistles. A Sandero perhaps.

It’s funny you say that, my father in law opted for Sandero Stepway (having been a Skoda man for years, starting with 2 Felicias), but has said same thing, Skoda is now too expensive and full of unnecessary gadgets.  He loves the Sandero Stepway, and intends to get another when current one is 4 years old as it is solid, reliable and honest.

Fully agree with the above.  Skoda have lost their way and whilst my various models have been reliable, they are getting more and more complicated which makes finding and fixing problems expensive.  Service costs are also a rip off for the amount and work done and parts used.  Dacia are now occupying the space vacated by Skoda and deservedly so.

I didn't speak to anyone.

I was in the process of ordering a  new Fabia with a number of extras but it suddenly changed to stock only orders, which to my mind means no factory orders for  my wants and needs.

Taken from recent Skoda boss Thomas Schaefer’s LinkedIn page:

“I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of our #FABIA: For over 20 years, three generations and 4.5 million units sold, this model has represented great value-for-money like no other, and it attracts a broad range of customers. In fact, it’s our second best-selling model after the #OCTAVIA. From my point of view, this unique success story is the perfect launchpad for the next generation that we will be presenting next year. I’m very much looking forward to the new FABIA, not least because we will once again have an COMBI version of the model that comes later. This is very important to us because it underlines our commitment to offering affordable, practical mobility in the entry-level segments. Stay tuned!”

So confirmation that the Mk IV will have an estate version - really pleased about that! I think most people thought it would probably not happen.

@rkenny

That is great, but he might be out on his backside before the month is out just like the last 3 Skoda bosses.

Jumped before being pushed in some cases.  Before being promoted into VW to be the fall guys.

Great if Skoda / VW can have a N/A engine & a turbo with manual & DSG and get the low emissions they need & not have Mild Hybrid with the DSG.

The other cars with a 1.0 TSI or 1.5 TSI are going to be DSG only when they are a Mild Hybrid.

An estate with a 1.5tsi engine and dsg sounds of interest, the current estate is a nice size but if it were a little bigger then all the better, i will look out for more info to come.

It seems that the new Fabia Estate will not appear until much later than the hatch. However, in the meantime, the current Estate will continue in production well into 2022. While not ideal at least it still gives the option of having an estate version available. See link below for the story.

There will be some real bargains to be had on the outgoing model if not fussy about colour and specifications.

The full reveal should certainly not be far off and the price reveal.  As to delivery times that might be in doubt until Skoda can get out cars people have already ordered since the order books opened on them.  This will give Skoda time to ensure the new MK4 Fabia is free of software glitches.  They must be keen to get the cars out and registered to aid them on having low average CO2 figures.
