01/05/06 update

Car is in the bodyshop. new rear axel, new suspension all round. new front end.new rear brakes and discs an much much more.. 4.5K of parts the garage quoted. still needs to go on a jig to sort out a bend @ the front.

It looks just like my 05 model after i had finished with it, make sure that it isn't a right off as the insurance wanted to fix mine with over 6k of damage.

i'm surprised it being fixed i've seen them written off for less

The key here is that the airbags didnt go off, had that happened this whelans car would also have been written off.

not sure about that, airbags are random things to say the least.

i had an incident in my car about 18 months ago involving me getting a roundabout quite wrong and going over it(it was only kerb height with them funny 45 degree angled kebs as edgers) and hitting those kerbs straight on and going over the round about bent two alloy knackered 2 shocks and set the drivers seat side airbag off :confused:

the worst part was the airbag going off, quite loud i must say

I cant wait to get it back, ive been drivin round in a 1.0corsa and its doing my nut in. i miss my hugging seats - power - aircon an looks. maybe another week or so an ill have her back!

Airbags arent random.

Depends on many things, vehicle speed, rate of deceleration etc.

Your side air bags went off Bengie as there was sufficient lateral movement to set them off.
