Hello, Horn and Airbag don't work, help is needed!

Featured Replies

Hello, I really need some help, I have skoda octavia mk 2 1z5 Diesel 2.0L automatic, it's a long time that my airbag and horn doesn't work and it's time to fix it now.

I need help to trace the source of the problem.

here's what I've done so far:

disconnect and reconnect the battery

disconnect and reconnect the steering wheel module (1k0 953 549) part number

replaced clock spring (1k0 959 653) - also I checked the old one with a multimeter and it seems fine (in connectivity mode all the pins are connected to each other)

what else can I do to find what is the problem and how to fix it?

also all my controls such as the wipers and lights all works fine so I"m not sure that it's the steering wheel controller.

any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

hello?

when you say your airbag doesnt work, is it that the light stays illuminated?

yes exactly

it may be the sensor under the seat. if there was something under it and it was wound down all the way to the lowest postion and got squashed it can throw an error, or dislodge the cable.

it may be unrelated to the horn..

If the airbag light is on, there should be a fault code stored...

If you're current diagnostic scanner only shows an EGR fault, you might want to try again with VCDS or similar :)
