Hello,

I am new to Skoda so please guide me if needed. With this post I want to mention my experience with the new, issues identified and ask for solutions to some needs that I have.

Kodiaq 2.0 tdi dsg SE L 7seats was received end of November so I will guess is MIB 3 right? The smell of burning was for few days but not that bad. skodaconnect has been activated but seems that has a lot of bugs.

I love the adaptive cruise control that is adapting the speed limit to the road signs and stays on even the car stops behind another car.

Optionals on it:

PACKET:PWE - High Beam Assist
PACKET:PWG - Area View Camera
PACKET:PWC - Lane Assist And Blind Spot Detection

PACKET:PLJ - Adaptive Cruise Control
PACKET:PLD - 2-Spk Leather Heated Multi-Fnctn Steering

PACKET:PL1 - Leather Upholstery
PACKET:PWD - Traffic Sign Recognition
PACKET:PF2 - Personalisatn Of Drive Mode Selctn

MFA:9S0 - Virtual Cockpit

PACKET:PB1 - Electrically Adjust Driver Seat PACKET:PKV - Htd Windscreen+Heatd Washer Nozl

Issues&questions:

1. car doesn’t have the option in the Menu for having each key memorising the seat position. I escalated to Skoda. Can someone share how it looks a similar menu to mine?

2. skodaconnect is not triggering any alert like notifications. Should it? The entry exit zone is working only for entry not exiting. Does work differently for you?

3. Do you have the option to show hour like 13:00 instead of 1:30pm?

4. Can be turned off the 12V power sockets?

5. Doesn’t have the button to lock the kids door. Is there any smart option for it as mechanical is a nightmare.

6. can the app trigger an alarm on my phone if someone is breaking in to the car or taking the car with or without a cloned key? Is useless considering this missing safety feature.

7. can be opened the windows from the app?

8. if the car is stolen what options do I have from the app to prevent being taken away? Car I lock it? Can I use horns?
9. Does the car have any hidden menu?

10. can the car automatically close windows if starts rain and engine is off?

11. Can the car restart using the last setting for seat and wheels heating level?

12. Can I lock the car with engine on? I understood that I might leave the keyless inside and use the key in the door handle. Any other option for having the car warmed or cooled without staying inside?

13. How can be used main console to have movies for kids while driving?
14. annoyingly one: how can I see waze or google maps on virtual cockpit? No solution yet?

15. Should I have in the menu the tyre pressure values? All I see is setting for when correct pressure is confirmed.

16. Can the brake pedal be set as for Audi? I heard might be changed to have an AUDI feeling as are using same components for Skoda.

17. considering the car optionals: can be coded for park assist without additional components being added?

18. what other tunings can be done?

Thank you

I'll take a few of the easy ones!

3. 24 hour clock - There is a thread on here somewhere discussing this. I think you need to run the initial setup process again.

4. No, 12v are constantly on (until battery gets low anyway).

5. No. I haven't seen any way to retrofit the electric child locks, or any 'smart' option.

12. You can use the 'rest' button to keep the heating on for a while with engine off and doors locked AFTER you've been driving it. I'm guessing this is not what you want though.

13. Search for 'video in motion'. Use something like Carista, or a dongle from kufatec. check first that this will still work on MY21 / MIB3.

14. If you have MIB3, it seems that you can have turn by turn directions from Waze or Google maps on the VC, but not the full map.

17. No. Extra parking sensors are required. 2 at the sides on the front, 2 at the sides on the rear. They only come with the park assist option. It is possible to retrofit if you really want to, but not worth it in my opinion.

Thank you Teir! Any answer is very appreciated. 😆

12. I don’t think that I have ‘rest’ button on my Kodiaq but I will have another look for it.
17. So basically can’t be used all the sensors used for 360 camera parking system with blind spot detection also for park assist? Are more sensors for that one? Just checking if I got it right. 🍺

On my Car

#1  Individual keys do not remeber seperate seat settings

#3  Yes - in settings

#4 No

#10  No

#11 No

#13 not legal in UK

#15 only what you see

#18 you could have engine chipped - but wave goodbye to warranty

The rest button (on my car) is between the first two dials on the a/c control panel.

The Area View (360) system is totally separate - it's not needed for Park Assist, and it doesn't help to have it. Park Assist uses 12 parking sensors - 4 front, 4 rear, and 4 side. The only way to get the side sensors is to order your car with Park Assist, or retrofit them yourself: https://www.kufatec.com/en/skoda/kodiaq/complete-set-park-assist-for-skoda-kodiaq-ns7-41599?number=41599-2

If you decide to retrofit, check with Kufatec first that the coding is still possible on a MY21 car.

Here is the link to the thread discussing how to set 24hr clock in MIB3 infotainment systems. Look at the last few posts for instructions.

I thought you needed HEX-V2 (or HEX-NET) for anything after MY18, but someone else may be able to say for sure?
