Auto headlights.

Featured Replies

I have just got my SEL First Edition. Used the full beam headlights today, very impressed. Are they supposed to be auto dipping (can't remember the name of the function). I get the blue symbol with the A in the middle yet they failed to dip when a car was oncoming. Before I complain, are SEL First Editions supposed to come with them automatic full beam headlights?

Before you complain, rather than HBA, you probably have intelligent headlights, take it for a drive in the dark, and watch the beams reshape as oncoming traffic approaches. I keep mine on at all times and never have an issue

Thanks. It seemed strange that I had full beam and it didn't dip automatically, as it used to on my MK III. The light do some interesting things.

Some of them don't fully dip but instead blank out the oncoming car. Very clever stuff

Have you got matrix led lights?

They will only "dip" in the oncoming cars place. And whem the car moves the dip moves too. The full beams have 36 led components and it will shutdown those leds that are blinding other cars. Also works to cars going in front of you.

Didn't read the instructions properly! They do work!

I've tried them in a loaner Mk4 vRS and they definitely work, but I still get flashed! (annoyingly)

Thanks for looking, much appreciated. They are pretty bright!

I also have the matrix lights and get flashed once in a while. Hopefully it will get better after some software updates.
