Featured Replies

has anyone had central locking fitted to a standard fabia?

i love my car but the standard locking can be a pain, i'd love to have central locking fitted but local dealer quoted me a fortune for it, has anyone had it done, is it worth it?

thanks

The central locking kit for the non CL cars is £100 from a dealer , maybe you could buy it there and have another cheaper garage fit it? If you need the part no it is BFC 400 101 (if your car has central locking but it is not remote , you can get a remote kit for £75 - part number BKA 400 001A) I have no experience of fitting either kit tho , sorry.

hi, thanks for that, i'll definitely look into it cos they're much more sensible figures, even with a few hours labour on top thats better than i've been quoted!

Hi Trufles

Maplin do a kit for £22

Steve

The Skoda kit is a big job to fit, especially with the remote kit on top. A good three hours labour to stripp down all the doors, the b pillar trims, sill trims, glovebox, dash undertrays etc.

I have central locking in the fabia classic but its not remote, whats the deal with installing the remote kit?

It links in with the CDL unit (only will work with retro fit CDL kit). Requires a few wires de pining and switching about.

Hi there,

When we bought a second hand Fabia Classic about three years ago we regretted not getting a CL model after a few months. So, I bought the proper Skoda kit (as mentioned) from JHMButt for around
