I want to remove the central air vents to get a bracket around them and was wondering if anyone knows how they come out.

I've removed the drivers side air vent before after some div broke one of the slats so it wouldnt move with the others.

It is held in with 4 small metal spring clips and I gently prised it out with a wide, blunt knife type implement and one would assume the central vent is fixed the same way.

Yep just levers out, use something plastic.
