Advice on fitting a pioneer SPH-DA250DAB...

Featured Replies

As the title suggests. I've had the stereo delivered. Now i need to purchase the correct parts to fit it. I would also like to purchase a string wheel controller and the appropriate fitting kit or whatever it is that i need. Can anyone provide actual item links because I've been searching for the last week and still aren't sure I'm finding the right parts lol.

Cheers guys,

Why do you need a remote control out of interest ? Fabia is not a big car :giggle:

This is one of the issues with these aftermarket Radio's, there are often many extra things you need to purchase for full functionality.

Personally I think the manufacturer ie Pioneer should list what you need to fit to what car, but they are not that bothered once they have your money for the unit, its then left to the purchaser to find out all the info which

is quite a task on some vehicles.

Your best bet "imo" is contact Poineer or an old fashioned good car hi fi shop for advice on what ISO adapters / connectors you need.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually ordered the fitting kit now. All i need is a string wheel controller too connect to it lol. Either that or some kind of Bluetooth based version. I've seen some in Amazon but not sure if they are compatible. Any ideas/recommendations please?

Sorry cannot help, I always upgrade with factory stuff nowadays, the last aftermarket radio I fitted was a single DIN Alpine in a Vauxhall GSI 300024v carlton in about 1999

well/ i've been looking online for ages now and it seems the only two controllers that pioneer do (sr110 and sr100) are crap and rely on direct infrared control which (looking at all the bead reviews) is just a bad design in the first place. What is the point of even making them if they don't work well at all(!?).

anyway, it looks like my only options are buying a 2nd hand steering wheel with the controls builtin or try to find a bluetooth controller that be mounted on the steering wheel and controls my phone, not the stereo. It's shocking how crap the aftermarket options are unless you already have steering wheel controls.. really can't see why no company has risen to the challenge. i doubt it is that hard.

the other option is to get a steering controller designed to work with an app that you install on an (android) stereo but I'm not sure if it is possible to install apps on this stereo (or even many branded stereos)???
