Apple Carplay vs Bluetooth connectivity

Featured Replies

I don't normally use the apple car play and just stick with the BT connectivity but on occasions my phone is low on battery so i've hooked it up.  Is it just me or is the volume when listening to music (using spotify) significantly lower using car play than when it's connected via BT....i've tried looking in all the settings to see if I can increase it but can't...any ideas?

I'd probably like to use carplay more (wirelessly most probably) as the ui looks much nicer with proper album artwork etc but I need louder volume like....some choons just demand to be blasted out !

Have you checked the phone volume as IIRC the output depends on that.

It's the same for me - listening to Spotify via the car's Android Auto is much louder than listening to Spotify on the phone via Bluetooth.

I've played around with the settings, no improvement.

I have the exact opposite problem mate, much much quieter using my iphone connected via carplay than it is using BT...will double check above suggestion, pretty sure I've tried that but I might not have.

I always find the sound quality crap on spotify on my car, much better playing of the SD card

I'm experiencing the same, the volume via bluetooth is a fair bit louder than Apple Carplay. I've tried increasing the volume on the phone, but it's already at max.

I find the same happens with my wife's Mini as well.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if you can make the volume of the head unit any louder?  VCDS? I like my music quite loud and I just find that even at max volume on the head unit it's just not loud enough.  I'm talking about every form of music being played (BT, USB, Radio) apart from the ****ty Apple Car Play which it's volume is just a joke.

It's unfortunately a problem with Apple Carplay.  Not Skoda.

How are your ears not destroyed if you’re listening to it at max volume and it’s not loud enough?

I've got Canton in the L&K and find the volume is (obviously) far higher than in my 'Amundsen equivalent' car.

My music only gets played via SD/USB but I also find the non Canton system volume slightly down from what I'd prefer.

I really, I mean REALLY miss the SD card functionality when I replaced my 3 yr old Karoq with a new one - same model etc but the SD card ability has been removed.  You now play via USB, Blue Tooth or Car Play but I’m struggling.  The USB sometimes sticks on tunes or just stops.  Car Play seems to drop connection randomly.  I saw in the manual an ability save tunes to a My Playlist which appeared to be the car. Is that correct and, if so, how many tunes can it take?  Any ideas because the manual isn’t great at elaborating…

Agree with the loss of SD. Don’t understand why they did this. It’s not like it’s a big cost item.

The other thing I don’t like is about half the time my songs playing off the USB revert to the top song in alphabetical order after I start the car (after it’s been turned off for some time). Really annoying when you’re half way through playing an album and you then have to go through the list again to find it and recommence playing. Anyone else have this issue also?

I have that issue as well …grrrrrrr   Love my Karoq so I’ll learn to live with its foibles but I do wish Skoda would allow an SD retrofit…
