We went into town today to have a look at a few systems. The ISOFIX systems are far and few between really, with most using the normal seatbelt to secure the car seat. However, we have seen a brand called i Candy which seems to be good quality and uses the Maxi Cosi ISOFIX system. All we have to do is re mortgage the house to afford the whole thing. So far, everyone's advice has been top notch, thanks to you all.

Hi again

As you have a little while till Sept, there are some great threads on here about "baby planning" generally. Havve you seen those threads? If not, one us will find a link for you :) As you say, time flies...

Unless the seat is new or you know the seller personally I would recommend never buying a car seat second hand or E-bay.

If you require a seat for more than one car then I suggest going for something similar to what I did which was a Britax Duo-isofix which can use the Isofix mounting points or the seat belt.

It comes in a variety of cover options to suit the interior of your car and is fairly reasonable when you buy on-line and haggle. We got ours from Kiddicare and was about

Hi' date='

Have a look at this site, taken from the Which report mentioned above.

That's surprising, and very worrying, considering those manufacturers generally have very good reputations and are not the cheapest.:thumbdwn:

At least i didn't see the Maxi Cosi mentioned, which we intend to buy.

Thanks for the link Paul, I'll be sourcing a new ISOFIX seat I think and possibly a second hand pushchair then. I guess you can't be too careful really, even if a second hand seat looks okay, you can't tell if it's been dropped or involved in a crash. Better safe than sorry. Thanks to everyone so far, the response has been absolutely great with so much positive, helpful advice. Makes me glad to have joined the Skoda world and be part of such a supportive bunch of people. Thanks folks.
