Moll car battery at 11.79V - normal?

Featured Replies

Checking the battery voltage once you’ve unlocked, opened the bonnet and woken up systems will not give a reliable indication of state of charge.

Agreed, and, as i said, it does rise a bit therefater. That said, the (11.8V) figure i get is the same as the dealer got from testing.

My main point, tho, is that the solar charger is not helping it hold charge.

I suspect, unless you have some continuing parasitic drain on the electrical system while the car is locked,  that your Moll battery is faulty - I have seen references to a faulty batch of batteries from this manufacturer.

That was also my suspicion, but it's been tested twice - last June by an indy and recently by a ŠKODA dealer.
