OK I know I'm lazy and its my fault for buying a diesal but it took an age this morning for the car to warm up and de-frost the front screen, and the swmbo had the same problem later on! Now its not a good idea to cool the swmbo off, so got talking to a friend and he has suggest trying a product called radiator relief. (the link is http://www.agriemach.com/product_info.php?cPath=7&products_id=441) I'm picking it on monday and should have enough to do both cars as there is enough to do approx 15litres. Will fill in more then......

VW tdi,s are very thermally efficient, and so take a while to heat up.

What you really need to pre-warm the car is a Kenlowe pre-heat system, failing that a garage.

The only thing I have to say is wow what a difference! Ive done both motors today, they definate come upto temperature quicker and the hot air when on max and max blower is almost to hot to touch on the petrol and just lovely on the diesal! OK

Andy,

By how much is the warm up time reduced? I take it its definitely compatible with VAG coolant fluid.

How much do you need to remove first?

You have to dilute it 1:15 so I took out 375ml approx as its a 6l system (375X16=6000) the bottle contains 942ml. I checked with the manufactors and they have not experienced any problems so far with any other antifreeze or additive combination (and it tasted the same pre and post adding it!!!!!). I reckon the time is at leasted halfed and you definately get hot air quicker to demist or defrost the front screen.
