All Sportline Plus models got the electric boot and 9.2" Columbus Info screen.

Do they still have the factory “safety” mod meaning you can’t close from the button as well then without a vcp mod?

New car round 2!! Finance accepted and deposit paid on this one from Marshall’s. I am much happier with the incredibly thorough service from Marshall’s, have been through all the history, had a video

Well that was total waste of time. Arrived this morning to collect the car to be greeted with a Dragon Green turd, shocking repairs on both bumpers, cheap worn out tyres and only one key. FoW were in

Kufatec have the area view kit for our cars now, but it's incredibly expensive... https://www.kufatec.com/en/skoda/superb/superb-3v/surrounding-camera-4-camera-system-for-skoda-superb-3v-43199

They do! I’ll put it together in bits tbh as it’s easier if I’m going to do it. It’s not really needed though, rear cam and mirror drop is fine for me but cool to have it all!

Just noticed the rear KESSY door handles on my FL hatch and they are as useful as the electric tailgate and something which Skoda should have fitted to my wife's SEL Karoq. Love the virtual dash and the DSG also plus the Canton and I realised that toys are more desirable than performance at the end of the day. Good price for estate has it done a few miles ?

I’m happy with the price considering the premium the colour and the spec, being a ‘Plus’ over the older SportLine carries.

Guessing it has the electric boot from that interior photo?

Suppose that’ll be getting the old vcp mod if so

that was the one thing I was a little surprised and disappointed to discover mine didn’t have though the manual boot is just fine for me and I don’t miss the old twin door I had before even though it was quite clever. (Was glad I never suffered the wiring failure too!)

It does but the VCP mod doesn’t work on cars this new which is a bugger so may have to backdate the boot controller to one that does allow it as I’ll miss that from the Octy.

Yeah, I was gutted to miss out on area view being stock on MY21, but as you say the rear camera plus mirror dip is sufficient

I found area view in the Kodiaq's I was borrowing from the dealer a bit hit and miss in terms of how useful it was, the quality of the image isn't overly great

Thanks! It’s not quite there but near enough and I always need something to do to keep my occupied haha

A lot cheaper! New with all the stuff I want is £49k. This is £18,750. Windscreen, VC and camera will make about £1000 so the big stuff isn’t that expensive anyway.

Sasha VC is very good, heated screen has been brilliant recently and will look good against the Dragon Green. Lovely colour. Not sure about the virtual pedal, mine is annoying and seems to work when it wants to, leaving me waving  my foot hopefully undr the bumper. The reversing camera is definitely. You'll have noticed a big improvement in comfort and refinement. If you haven't got it fitted already and can bear the expense, DCC is definitely worth investing in. Looking forward to your upgrades.

Will see if I can find the bits for it. I know from the Octy now what’s useful and what’s frivolous on them now. I’ll be happy with just the rear cam for now :)

I love my VC in the Octy so I’ll be doing that for sure, virtual pedal is really cheap retrofit to be fair so would like it as I’ve used it on other cars and it’s handy when it works. DCC I’ve never seen the benefit of myself, I hardly feel the difference with it personally and it’s an expensive fit on these so that one probably won’t happen. Was tempted by an L&K for all the toys but this SportLine Plus has just enough to keep me happy and build from.

No point in you buying a L&K Sasha, you’d be bored there’d be nothing for you to do and I don’t think there’s a L&K in Dragon Green. Also, after writing my last post, I watched a Skoda Virtual Pedal video, went outside, tried it and it works perfectly. Typical bloke, didn’t read the instructions. Simply place foot under bumper, withdraw ...wait 2-3 seconds, brake light illuminates and boot opens, same for closing.

They don’t which is why I had to have one in this colour. It’s under £50 to fit the virtual pedal with AliExpress parts so I’ll do a buy haha.

You can fit Virtual Pedal to my hatch if you only charge me fifty quid ha ha.:tongueout:

My virtual pedal thinks it’s a gillotine. Every time I fit the towball I forget and trigger the boot and it tries to severe my head. Really must stick a post it note to the bag to remind me. 😂

Congratulations Sasha it´s a litter bigger no  ?

Have been fallowing your Octavia thread and it helped in my retrofits to.

Here are my Retrofits  it´s a 2016 version:

Lane assist - without changing windshield

Virtual cockpit

Columbus 2.5 with 9.2  screen

BCM newer (made possible the 30 ambient colors, only had 3)

GATEWAY newer (because of bcm swap)

What I´m currently trying to do is in some way have the traffic information on my MIB as i can´t have skodaconnet because of VIN and there is no TCM here in Portugal.

That’s the parts, will see how hard it is to fit and if it’s not bad it could be something I can offer as an option.

Does yours have the factory tow bar? Mine has the proper folding one so I’m hoping the mount behind it for the sensor doesn’t affect it, I have to pull the lever in the boot to sort it so no biggie if it did try to close. Have used it on cars with folding bar and it’s never tried to close on my head but mine might haha

It is bigger, yes. How did you mount the A5 cam? In a HBA mirror? I’m swapping the screen anyway to get heated screen so will do both in one. Sounds like some good mods :)

No, I have a westfalia removable Swan neck fitted. I keep the bag with the ball in the spare wheel well, with the wheel.
process normally goes

Open boot, remove bag

click ball into place, trigger boot

stand up, hear boot warning beep

Then it’s either duck in time, or crack head on boot and then swear at it.
I think the bar and a sunroof were the only options not specked on the car when new. Could never understand it as they then only kept it for just short of 5 months. Much to my benefit!!

Wow, your benefit indeed!! I only have to pull a lever and the bar drops down which is a major boon for me as a caravan is our next big purchase and it’ll go well behind this :)

My first attempt was to place the camera  in the mirror like in this link https://mqb.pl/en/tutorial-retrofiting-lane-assist-sign-assist-light-assist-5q0980653/

,but in superb it is not possible because the maximum length of  cable is 20 cm and there is no space in superb roof, i even make the bracket .  There was only one solution a 3d printed box, i think it came out good , you can see below.

Ahh I remember seeing that thread now. Would go down that route if I wasn’t swapping the screen for heated anyway. Nice job.

Hi Sasha,  I remember seeing your posts and mods on the Octy, congrats on the DK Superb..

Have you a link to the parts needed for the virtual pedal?

My wife and 3 y/o daughter seem to trigger it randomly whenever they're leaning on/over the bumper to reach into the depths of the gigantic boot

Luckily it beeps when its happening so I can press the button to stop it

@SashaGrace Congrats for your new car!

Nice mods program!

I'm eager to see a 'how to guide' from you concerning the front camera add. It doesn't seem an expensive mode, but I don't see how it should be connected to the Columbus to be triggered simultaneously with front parking sensors. I will probably wait until you do it ;) !

I had the same problem until I realised that "waving" the foot is not the right way to do it. You need to "kick" your foot under the centre of the boot. Well, that works flawlessly for me now.

BTW Great looking car @SashaGrace. I wanted a wagon (Estate where you are) but couldn't get what I wanted in the specs I got in the hatchback.

Uh oh!! I’ll fit it anyway as I want it and if it does randomly close on me I’ll turn it off in the radio.

Thanks! I’m not planning to do a solo front cam, might do the 360 setup at some point.

Yeah it’s a kick more than a wave, I had to have a wagon so I’m glad I held out for this one :)

OK. Do you think using only the front cam from the OEM 360 setup may work, or would it more probably generate error messages... (assuming it would eventually work)... ?

  • Author

It would need the whole module and camera setup unfortunately, I’ve not seen any OEM integration of a front camera, maybe an aftermarket one somewhere though.

OK, thanks for your feedbacks. :)

Many of you have reached out to me wondering if there is an update and I’m relieved to say that there finally is. Dealing with Fords of Winsford has been like pulling teeth and whatever happens with the car I would never recommend them to anybody!! I’ve had to demand my deposit back twice just to get a date to even see the car but we finally have a collection slot, Saturday at 9am. However, because they are only offering a pay in full test drive and I don’t believe that their 100 mile no quibble return makes the customer whole should they return the car I have been forced to make a decision based on the cars condition and I’ve decided that if it’s anything less than perfect I’ll have to leave it there and buy a different car from somewhere else. So it’s not as certain as it was nearly 2 weeks ago when I paid the deposit but at least I’ll be able to make a proper decision at last.
