Fuel Sensor

Featured Replies

Afternoon all. I believe I have a faulty fuel sensor. At first I just thought the car was just very thirsty as the gauge was going down pretty quickly. But then the gauge became pretty random. I'd start it up and I'd have 250 miles left. After 2 or 3 mins driving it would go down to 90 miles left then back up to 200 and back down to 70 Miles.  I put 20quid in and it went up to 200 miles then dropped again quickly to 80 Miles (after driving about 15 miles). I put another 20quid in and it went back up and then back down. I went to put more fuel in but the pump stopped which tells me the tank is full however when I started it, the gauge showed half full (around 190 miles).

Any advice is appreciated.

I too think your tank sensor needs replacing, it's an easy job and the part is not that expensive.
