Vrs MK3 fan pack problem

Featured Replies

Morning all.

Been lurking for a while now but need a little help if possible please..I need to fit a new front panel, rad, intercooler and AC rad to the front of my 2016 vrs petrol.against my better judgement I have gone aftermarket (although mahle which I believe is oe)

The 3 rads with fan all clip in ok but when on the car appear to not sit straight.further back on the right edge as you stand over it.as a result the air box won't fit correctly.

Can anyone confirm that this is wrong and it should all fit square as I would expect.any link to under bonnet pics with the air duct off would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Lee

Some photos of the problems would be helpful.  There is also the concern that if you didn't go for OEM, then the parts may not fit correctly....

This is it as you can see it's way out of line.(sorry couldn't rotate the picture)

It's mahle which is oe

But yes I agree genuine is always the way.its in at the bottom and clipped at the top so something must be made incorrectly.surely it should sit square

It should sit square. Are you sure you have the right part for your car? Worth going back and speaking with the supplier. I suspect it is the mounting brackets that are out. Can you transpose the brackets onto the new radiator? Failing that....sorry, it will be back to original OEM equipment. Speak with the parts department at Horton Skoda in Lincoln, because they are super friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. They are also used to wierd issues cropping up.

Accident damage requiring you to fit these new parts?

Have you replaced the crash beam?

Everything on the front end of the car is aligned from the fixings to the crash beam even down to the panel gaps between the bonnet headlights & wings, the longerons contain the primary crumple zone, its very easy for it to be pushed back by that amount on one side without any visual indication.

Alternatively the replacement pattern part crash beams are not made to the same tolerances, I had to do some fettling to get the panel gaps as they should be.
