Extending the Time for Auto Stop/Start

Featured Replies

Hi All - Is there any way to increase the time delay (OR speed sensitivity) before Auto Stop/Start kicks in? My 2020 2.0 TSI Sportline "Stops" every time I am crossing a small hump on the road - when the car has not come to a full standstill. I may have slowed down such that speed is lesser than 5 Km/Hr [though have not come to a full standstill, as at a traffic signal]. In all such instances, I find the car "Stopping" and then "Starting".

I end up deactivating the Stop/Start for such situations BUT wondering if there is any way to increase the "Time Delay" post which Auto Stop/Start kicks in.

Appreciate any expert views on this.

If you have DSG don’t press the brake pedal so hard.

that method worked perfectly with Passat B7, all newer VAGs stops engine lot faster :(

i have installed Start-Stop Memory module for automatic deactivating without completely disable it

Simple answer no.

Long answer - u've already figured it out, that is to deactivate start-stop.

Doesn't matter who little u feather the brakes, the start-stop cuts the engine before ur stopped.

It's very annoying.

May be you can try to make a different setting with VCDS to have a less persuasive S&S, using the "limit start voltage" parameter...

It's the same operating process as S&S deactivation, but instead of changing the original value from 7,6V to 12V for complete deactivation, just try something in between.

I've changed it to 8.5 or 8.6V on my Mk3 and I have to say, that the S&S triggers are much less nerving! I would almost say I forget I have a S&S system, though it still activates sometimes. It doesn't strike me anymore, when the engine stops upon S&S activation.

May be worth to try this option... ;)

Simply as you are driving have stop/start enabled on not.  If you are going to be stopping you can put stop/start off, and when stopped and you want the engine off press the button and have stop/start enabled and the car will switch the engine off.
