vRS is expensive this month!!!

Featured Replies

The car is crippling our finances at the moment, I knew i'd need 4 new tyres but not the front/rear brake discs and pads aswell.

  • 2 Front tyres
  • 2 Rear tyres
  • 2 Rear discs/EBC Greenstuff pads
  • 2 Front discs/Pads

And to top all that off at the end of this month i'm getting the rear ARB fitted.

Lets hope every month isn't this expensive. :thumbdwn: :(

Hellfire !!

What tyres did you go for?

I've found the rear ARB helped reduce tyre wear a fair bit (as it seems to reduce the amount of work the fronts are doing during brisk cornering ;))

It also reduces the wear on the outside edges of the tyres too :D

Chris

It kinda makes having the rear ARB a worthwile upgrade on basis of cost alone IF you drive at pace round bends and/or do a fair bit of mileage.

Considering I do 40k / year and probably make progress round a few bends on the way to work, it's a no-brainer (which is good as the coffee has only just kicked in  )

I got some Pirelli P ZERO NEROS in the end for £63 a corner, fitted including balancing & laser aligning for £35 ;)

Are the tyres i've bought none directional as it appears the tyres on the NS of the car has the tread facing the opposite way round to the tyres on the OS of the car.

See Hellfire, not bad after all

Now you can go back out and enjoy that power again. :D

I technically could but at the moment I can't brake because the car is still waiting to have it's front brake discs/pads changed. I only got the car back from the dealers on friday after having the rear bumper replaced.

I have checked my records and my car has been in the dealers 9 times since this time last year for warranty work/wear and tear issues. A total of 17 days spent without it.

I am starting to wonder whether if it's a financially viable option to keep it. It's great fun, but it's becoming very costly aswell. £600 on parts in the last 2 months and that's without the £260 loan, £130 insurance and £150 diesel each month.

I need 4 new tyres too. Hoping to get toyo t1-rs supplied and fitted by a local contact for under £300. :)

Hellfire how many miles has it covered?. My brakes have grinded since 5000K.

Nuff said :D:cool:

How many miles have you done then?

Also you can't include the additional cost of modified parts such as EBC pads in your 'running cost' calculations.

Also I would say if you are spending £150 per month on Derv you are doing a fair few miles and things will wear out. I bet if you are realistic in your calculations your running costs are pretty low.

Hehe ;)

40k on the clocks now, still going strong :D
