Does any one know the correct size for a space saver wheel?

ive got 225/45r17 wheels on mine.

You don't say if you've got a hatchback or the combi. The combi will fit at least a 205/55R16, so if you've also got the combi, it might be worth taking a wheel off and see if it'll fit. It fits outer side down so the polystyrene thing with the jack etc can fit inside it. I've heard the hatchback has less room, so needs a space saver though. Hopefully someone with the same size wheels as you will be along soon to confirm.

225/45r17 Fitted on my hatchback MY19 .....car owned from new & [up to now] not been used !

Is it a vRS? as that will make a difference as to what you can fit. 

 

The standard spare is a regular 16" steel wheel with a 205/55/16 as fitted all round to some of the lower models but that will not fit over 340mm front brakes so the vRS have a proper 18" space saver with a 125/70 R18

 

As said above you can get a full size wheel in (225 width, any diameter) but it will depend on the tyre design as to whether it lifts the boot floor a touch (for a 225 you need one with no rim protector like most Continentals.
