Celtic Tuning 230 bhp

Featured Replies

i have been looking around a few tuning compaines to see who offers he best bhp gains, i came across celtic tuning who offer a turbo package which includes:

Hybrid Turbo

ECU Re Map

Full Milltek Exhaust

Sports Cat/Down Pipe

Rolling road printout

has anyone heard/owned a fabia with the above mods? 230bhp sounds very tempting

any thoughts?:D

er, is there any clutch upgrade coz the standard one would do well t last a week!

Also the brakes wont be upto the power either and generall it would cost far more on top to make it safe with 230 BHP...

All very tempting though. Anyone got £7k to burn?

Anyone got

Errm, i've got some of those!!,

But mine's standard, or so i was told!!

Aren't they all as fast as mine then??

mine has all the above exept the turbo, its at 180bhp.cant see that much more from turbo,as the lads say you wud most likely have to do more to ensure safe hassel free motoring.last thing youwant is a bag of spaners.....

And while you're at it, you might want to budget for some bigger tyres/wheels, uprated clutch, uprated springs/dampers and a rear ARB. No point having all that power if the car still won't go round corners ;)

Not convinced myself.

Easy to claim, I can get you 240 for 8k

All the big scoobie figures are peak figures and most cars are useless except for the very very narrow spike to hit a figure.

Jason is the best person I know of, having done a similar process himself with Jabbasport and others.

Don't forget drivetrain issues...clutch, box, shafts...add another 3k to that figure, which is already high.

Sounds a lot of money for that.

You'll need a Limited Slip Diff, uprated clutch (Organic at the very least, probably better though), rear ARB, strut brace, PD160 intake, green (or K&N) filter, custom remap, hybrid turbo. That said you'd get terrible heat soak too unless you go for the FMIC. Brakes definitely need an upgrade & you'd want to stick Eibachs or better on too.

I'd be shocked if you managed to do all that for 7k, but if they can, great :)

Devonutopia appears to have :rofl::D

HAD mate.. HAD

Now running the poverty line with loan repayments for the next 3 years or so. Care, NOPE! :D Every time I drive my car I never regret it.

230 from just the above is a little tough. Look whats on mine and it won't get past 220.....

cheers, for the reply i thought 230 was abit optomistic!

who came up with the 7K figure?

im still waiting to here back on a price, purely for curiosity. would be intresting to see how much they charge. and i wonder how they would explain the r/r print out when it only shows +/-200 bhp not 230 bhp?

Reckon you'd get circa 215+bhp BUT...you would have to upgrade the clutch. The spec shown is pretty much what Xav as on his and gave over 200bhp BUT...the map was turned back as the clutch couldn't handle the torque.

So I reckon in the region of 215+bhp and Lord knows what Nm figure....as I said though upgrade clutch as well as Cupra intake.

*Note: all my usual disclaimers apply. ;)

Get a few stickers on it it will be good for another 30-40bhp no problems

:D

Xav's now has a Sachs & FMIC I thought? should be able to push 220.

The STAR one I nearly bought had over 13,000 spent on it (I saw the receipts) and spoke with the main guy at STAR and that was only 215. However it would be a very reliable 215.

You'd be better just buying an Ibiza Cupra PD160 and remapping it for a safe and reliable real world 200 bhp that already has FMIC, larger turbo, Better brakes, suspension, i've seen them for £10k on seatcupra.net/autotrader and with a £500 remap your in business.

The injectors aint going to go over 220.

Won't

8k will probably buy an Ibiza Cupra. :D

Won't
Won't £8k get you a 1.8T conversion, and thus the groundings for a billion bhp?
£8k + the value of a vRS would get you a car that would kick the ar.se out of any Fabia vRS.

I reckon I'm getting remarkably close to spending that

i think im going to stick to a re-map to be honest, all this talk of extra expense is scaring me!

i would buy a an ibza pd160 but i dont realy like them. no offence to anyone whos got one.

8k will probably buy an Ibiza Cupra. :D

Indeed - but that's not quite the point. If I want 'a' 1.8T powered car, then yes. But I want a 1.8T Fabia. Then I'd have to spend the wonga. The day my 6 numbers come up, Jabba will make me a Fabia, with 4x4 and 1.8T from the Octavia.

Oh yes.

Mine is just getting more expensive slowly but surely as I spend more on tuning it - no sense involved in that, other than trying to get the car capable of putting down (most of) the power (most of the time).

May end up with LPG too, to increase fuel economy and power a bit on the diesel side. Dunno for sure yet though ;)

8K plus a furby will get you a proper sports car-granted second hand but likely more driveable, safer and probably more reliable.
