Couple of part numbers please?

Featured Replies

I have searched the forum, googled, and searched 7ZAP for these before making a nuisance of myself but I'd like to be certain so.... nuisance it is, sorry

Stock Mk1 vRS, want to replace the dump valve and N75 at some point soonish..

Anyone got the part numbers to hand please?

Thanks... E.

Take a look HERE for N75 possibilities ...

Still looking for blow-off valve sources.

Trying not to be lazy....

Is 06A145710P right for the DV?

And 058906283F for the N75?

Too many numbers make my head spin (metaphorically,  not literally)

You'll need input from a 1.8T member, I'm afraid.  I'm good at helping find part numbers but all our cars are diesels.

Perhaps @DeanVRS20VT or @mac11irl might be able to help?

@MikeTheThinker  ahve ne'er ad an one point ate, only an deezul.

bear in mind its a recirc valve, rather than a dump valve...

i would imagine there is only one part number for it? pretty sure the oem one is a Bosch.

Your main part numbers are correct, the last letter is the revision code, and the numbers you posted are newer than my ones that I purchased about 18 months ago.

My ones were 06A906283E for the N75 and 06A145710N for the recirc valve

I would just double check with your lacal main agent that the revision is correct and go for it with the new numbers.

Hope it helps.

I think the diverter valve is on revision 'P' now, but it doesn't matter. Quote the numbers above to TPS and they'll tell you what the least revisions are. Then come back and let us know! :D

TPS won't speak to me... they claim trade only, wanted proof last time I rang..

If I could have a face to face with the local VW dealer we'd sort it.. the 2 who run the parts dept are decent.

It’s such a hit and miss with them. Could you not try the local Skoda dealer and ask to speak to the parts dept? (Same thing really)

My local TPS under normal conditions will not deal with me, but since lockdown and the closing of the local retail dealer for the near future, they do deal with me but on a retail basis.

Might be worth a try to see if they will do a similar arrangement?.

Do you just walk in or ring them?

Try this post.

In my case I rang first, mentioned my local main agent was closed so could they help in any way (which they already knew) and the guy sorted me a click and collect.

They did make it clear that when the dealer re-opens, then it was back to trade only.

Hope it helps.

All TPS sales staff are working from home since a long time, in normal times they spent 99% of their time dealing with phone orders, it was only people non trade people like myself and the taxi drivers that would ever go to the trade counter, they dont(or didn't) mind dealing with me because I knew exactly what I needed, gave the part numbers & could confirm the suffix numbers if there were different trim colours for instance.

Tthe taxi drivers in general were a real pain in the backside for them but were tolerated because they were businesses and collectively made up a big market, they knew that they were buying the parts & paying Fred in a shed cash to fit them, Fred not wanting anyone to know he was moonlighting would not have an account with them and would have bought the cheapest parts on the internet, so they accept the walk in taxi drivers, I would phone my orders & have them delivered or collect if it was urgent, they always sold to me under either "Generic trade counter sales" or "Generic Taxi" :D

I reckon at the end of this like many businesses they will continue with sales staff working from home and closed doors to the warehouse so as not to have to put up with the great unwashed walking in.

Now is perhaps the time to get a foot in the door if the dealers parts counters are closed and to try and build a relationship to remain with them, in my branch its them that do the relationship building because that is what you should do to retain customers.

They must love me with how much I use them. I’ve been to 3 different stores. Even a random one in Coventry once as I was passing buy to pick up parts. I hear stories of people not being served and then the communication from HO not to serve joe public. But even in lockdown I ring up say the part number, book a time slot and pay over the phone.

Don’t know what I’d do if I lost them at trade prices! 🥺

I am not getting a particularly great discount but also don't know what I would do without them, its been at least 15 years since I have been recieved at a proper main dealer parts counter by someone that has even the slightest clue about their range of vehicles, usually its an empty desk in a shiny chrome & marble showroom, you have to find the bored looking heavily made up girl chatting on the front to an admirer, get her attention, if she deigns to acknowledge your presence then you might after 10 minutes get an idiot arrive who you will have to find the parts for on their computer.

If you walk in looking green, maybe with a partner & kids then you will be mobbed by salespeople coming from their hiding places in all directions.

What discount do you get from TPS? I get 8% on everything and a bit more on some lines, service items etc, I have not tried negotiating as I would gladly pay 30% more than retail price just to be able to use them and avoid the only alternative!

If I need a part here in France and will not be visiting the UK soon enough I get terminally depressed, if you think the dealers parts counters are bad in the UK they are 50 times worse here.
