Radio 65 plate Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi is there a way you can connect two phones to your radio

I’m a nurse in the community

We are given one phone for patients

to call us on and then we use our own phones to call the office or each other on

so most the calls are as we are driving

I believe you can pair both of the phones to infotainment ,but only use one at a time for making calls .

I can pair 2 phones on my 68 plate

Pretty sure only the Columbus system can have 2 connected at the same time. Should be able to have many paired but don't know how you would easily bring a phone up if you get a call on the one that isn't connected at the time. Maybe there is a way to select it in the phone menu.

Assume that the OP has either a Bolaro or Amunsden car radio system, it all depends on the hardware and the firmware version.

You also need a phone that support Bluetooth 4.0 and above [2 or 3 years old].

Lets look at the MIB / Audio system.  Press and hold MENU, press Versions and Version Information and send us the screenshot on this post.  If the OP can send us info on their phones (make and model), I am hopeful that if the OP also checks out https://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/  this list will also show whether their car can take two phones at the same time or not.  There maybe firmware updates to see if this might fix gremlins which stops the phones from properly connecting phones to the car audio system.

My 68 plate has the Amunsen radio, i can pair 2 phones. On the phone display, there is a little switch icon next to the phone name on the touch screen, so you can toggle between the two.

It was one of the requirements when i bought my car as i have a personal and work phone :)

You can only answer one call at a time, but they will work collaboratively.

So the MIB2 Amundsen can pair with 2 phones, but we don't know whether OP has a MIB1 or a MIB2 (probably a MIB2 as it's a 65 plate, but not definitely as the production changeover was in May 2015 so an early 65 plate could still have a MIB1) or whether he has an Amundsen or a Columbus ...
