front passenger door wont unlock

Featured Replies

Thanks for reading and hope you can help.

I cant open the passenger front door atall.

Ive just about managed to get to the actuator by partially pulling back the door cover.. the cable looks fine from the handle so im not suspecting that but im thinking that the actuator motor feels like its actuating for the lock but it seems very uncommitted to unlocking ..

Is there any thing i can pull/push/twist ect to mimic the open movement? Im trying what i can by feeling by finger tips 😄😰

This is for an 07 tdi skoder roomster in case thats not clear

It is possible that you may be able to open the door by sitting in the car and locking the doors with the central locking button, then press the C/L button whilst pulling on the internal door latch – if this doesn’t work try it with engine running. This may get the door open so that you can inspect the wires that go from the body to the door. If the wires look OK then you may need a new door lock.

Ive got a bit more access to it now so perhaps with the photos ive taken you/or anyone could tell me what i could/should do next.. the door is locked closed so bare in mind i cant open the door...

Ive pulled off the cable which i guess it the external door handle cable..

What i was hoping to find is either something on the actuator that turns or pushes something that i could reach to mimic the actuator

I might not have described the problem very well.

So with access through the door panel i need to get the deadlock to unlock.

The actuator isn't doing that so any one know how to do that manually?

Ive opened it now.. i had to put 24v in wires 1 and 2... (12v didnt budge the mechanism)..

Though i have worked out how to unlock the deadlock without any power .

Hi Jez, how did you manually unlock it in the end?

Cheers,

Matt
