I recently purchased a pair of rear Bilstein B8 shocks for my 2015 Octavia Combi 150TDI:

I ensured to enter my reg correctly in the Winparts website to ensure I was buying the correct part but they do not fit - the problem is the diameter of the bushing - attached photo for ref.

They measure approx 59mm, whereas the shock on the current car is approx 45mm - quite a big difference so it won't fit.

Bilstein part number is 24-229937

According to the Winparts and other websites - these are the correct part number for my car but in reality they don't fit.

 

Anybody have any similar experiences or know the correct part number I should order?

Bilstein B8 24-229937 is for multilink rear suspension. I doubt the 150HP has multilink rear suspension.

Bilstein B8 is for lowered/sports suspension.

 

Bilstein B6 is for standard ride height suspension.

 

Both Bilstein B6 and B8 are high performance dampers, ie. expensive.

 

The more regular Bilstein B4 shock absorbers are about half the price of Bilstein B6 and B8 shock absorbers, and adequate for most people.

24-229920 will be the correct b8 one for solid rear suspension, go to the original bilstein site to get the right ones for your car.

I am searching also for my car but dont know which to order if it has multilink or solid? 

Searching for front and rear if anyone can help.

The front shock absorbers come in two types depending whether your strut has an outside diameter of 50mm or 55mm.
