Changes for MY22

Featured Replies

The facelifted Karoq is due to be announced this autumn, but Skoda France have updated their Karoq brochure (here: Catalog and prices KAROQ - ŠKODA (skoda.fr) )

which shows that in the meantime there are only minimal changes to the present car.

In fact as far as I can see, the only changes are that Emerald Green (2A2A) and Meteor Grey (F6F6) will be discontinued from the 1st of July.

The catalogue in that link is dated December 2019, but the prices download does have the MY22 spec.  Interesting trim level hierarchy, rather more complicated that in the UK.  And they look rather more expensive comparing roughly similar levels of kit.

Indeed - I was looking at the prices of a Superb in Germany, quite a bit more than here in the UK.

That Remainer doom and gloom prediction about car prices going up after we leave the EU doesn't seem to have come about...........

The facelifted Karoq is due to be announced this autumn, probably at IAA Mobility in Munich:

It's the standard European trim levels (with a new 'Clever' trim added recently) and is also used in Ireland. It's also interesting that the 2.0TSI engine isn't offered in the Sportline as it is here.

Must say that I prefer the current, smoother front.

I agree. I think the current Karoq / Kodiaqs front ends had evolved into one of the subtlest & nicest such designs on the market. They've rather messed up there with the MY22. Maybe a general trend though and not half as bad as what BMW have been doing to their double kidney in the 7 series for instance - ughh!

I would guess if the mid life facelift is expected in the Autumn, then unlikely to be changing the spec in the summer

And if they do it will something very minor in interim

My own hunch is the revised interior will get a mix of Octavia 4 and new Fabia 4 (due at end of year) parts, but looking more like a Kodiaq facelift as I can't see any reason for this to be fundamentally different in operation inside.   Its obviously cheaper to build all the models in a similar way.

The trouble is the new design will become accepted and the current start to seem old fashioned? So facelift early version will have more value than similar aged older version.

I loved the style of my 2010 Yeti but as a company lease car it had to be replaced in 2014. The new second Yeti was a facelift and initially I still preferred the original. However by 2017 when I picked and ordered my own third Yeti I liked the revised style and thought the original looked dated!

I didn't know you had a Yeti

Is it me or does the front grill appear to be vertical and no laid back slope thats visible on the current MY21 ?

In relation to the BMW kidney grill, thats a hard pass thanks.

My son says that I start to like a car style only when the new one is announced. :)

I had 3 between 2010 and 2020.

2010 elegance company lease 110ps diesel

2014 elegance company lease Greenline

2017 personal lease SEL 150ps dsg which I had intended to keep into retirement until I came across current 190ps Edition in Black in the showroom last year at a good price whilst Yeti was in for service.

Maybe, but I doubt I'll ever get to prefer the new front end, I really do like the current design. I've had occasional passing thoughts about changing my MY19 SE 1.0 DSG technology earlier than my usual 6-8year stint with any one car, for a newer Karoq, what with the mild hybrid DSG that's coming + incorporating adjustable dampers, 360* vision, traffic assist and lots of other goodies, but that new grill is dampening those urges just now.

I love the MY21 Sportline I have currently, and as @croquemonsieur has already mentioned that grill is a hard pass for me.
