Octavia VRS Estate. Petrol or Diseasel??

Featured Replies

Evening guys,

After a long hiatus from Skoda ownership... I am now looking for a VRS estate.

Question is... Do I buy a petrol or diesel??

I travel approx 10k per year. Average about 45mpg currently (MK3 Mondeo).

Have £16k to spend.

My head says diesel... My heart says petrol.

Opinions greatly recieved.

Buy petrol for these 10k per year. Especially if you drive mainly in the city.

If you rarely drive the car and these 10k are done by long journeys few times a month, pick the diesel.

I own a diesel and if you are only doing 10k I would go petrol. I went diesel as although I don12 miles a day round trip to and from work. I have family that live 150 miles away so I commute very regularly and diesel worked out cheaper for my mileage. I'd love to have petrol. Petrol manual will be the best for economy between dsg and manual. But dsg is a more relaxing drive. So I have dsg and diesel 😃

Petrol.

Yes...lower mileage I would go Petrol.

Petrol.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like I will be searching for a Petrol VRS then!

yes, petrol, much more fun than the diesel.

I do 300 miles every weekend on the motorway with smaller trips in between.

I went for a Diesel DSG because of this and return 52-58mpg however I would love to go back to a manual petrol when more practical!

Currently toying with the idea of a remap or even a toy for weekends to satisfy my urge for more spirited driving.
