Replacing front and rear discs & pads, part numbers needed please

Featured Replies

My car is a 2011 1.2 Greenline II Estate and I want to replace all discs and pads on it but I am confused by some sites which show various options.  Is there a definitive source I can check or has someone else got the same car and done the same thing?

My driving style is steady and careful so I don’t need anything better than what it came with.

I won’t be fitting the parts myself, I’ll be getting a local independent garage to do it.

Grateful for accurate part numbers if anyone has them.

you need your PR codes to ensure you get the correct parts as there is quite a lot of options and these would be geunine parts, is that what you want ?

Out of interest, why not let the garage doing the work supply them, they would have (or should have) access to motor factors etc etc

Or try here

You will require your Production code to find out exactly the discs for the front as there are 2 sizes listed 239mm and 256mm the rear discs and pads are the same for all the range in these models, there are also different pads depending on disc size if you use a laptop or pc download Textar brake book and you will see all models and pads discs drums  brake shoes fitting kits etc for most models,  I have used these before to check and buy pads etc online  and the discs come with the coating as per genuine VW/Skoda parts but a lot cheaper

I agree with @UrbanPanzer, just let your garage source them.

Don't get suckered into the "but ECP has this amazing sale on!!" stuff. It's a marketing illusion, designed to make you think you're getting a brief, spectacular deal. You're not, they always have such discounting. It's just a tactic.

I wanted to be sure that my preferred option, let's say Brembo just for an example, was actually bought and fitted.  I'm a bit cynical and wary of paying for one thing and getting another.  I'm probably being daft so I'll get a quote for supply and fit from the garage.

Any idea what I should expect to pay for labour? £100? £200?

Thanks for that, that's a good resource.

I can see that mine is the Fabia II Combi (545) 10/07 - 12/14, 1.2 TDI 05/10 - 12/14 55kW so at least I'll be able to point the garage to the right spec.

The Fabia MK2 1.2TDI has 256mm diameter front brakes discs. However, there are two types of calipers which is determined by the build code.

Build code 1ZE = TRW calipers

TRW Front Brake Pads

D >> - 01.04.2012

(7) 6RU698151A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake
D - 02.04.2012>>

Build code 1ZG = ATE calipers

ATE Front Brake Pads

15 6R0698151A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake
Model data: PR-1ZG,1LR

Both the TRW and ATE versions use the same front brake discs 6R0615301.

Model data: PR-1ZE

11 6R0615301 brake disc (vented)

Can I determine the right option from the VIN or the sticker inside the wheel well?

Look at the calipers on the car and compare with images here and here.

The links both throw up an error page.  If it helps, the front calipers are marked with "FS III", which I've seen referenced elsewhere in brake discussions.  Does that tell me which of Carlston's options is right for me?

My links or Carlston's?

Yes, FS111 is the ATE caliper, so PR=1ZG.

I've no idea why you've had trouble with those, they work for me on all devices to hand.

Anyhoo, you don't need them to work now anyway.

Looks like it was at my end, they worked fine when I switched off my VPN 🤷‍♂️.

I've decided to do that and it's booked in.

£285 for supply and fit new discs & pads, front and rear.
