  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

It’s not a myth! The cars do exist! Arrived this morning 😍

  • She’s here!

That sounds like absolute balls

One of the issues here is how the car is going to decide what the speed limit is. For instance I was driving across the New Forest the other day. Apart from the A31, the majority of roads have a 40mph limit for the safety of the animals. Unfortunately my car seems to 'think' that the speed limit on certain roads is 30mph. It is no issue to me, but it could be extremely frustrating if the car refused to go above 30mph, especially to those whose car would limit to the correct 40mph limit.

Totally agree. Not only is the nav data pants in my bear when it comes to speed limits, it’s made worse by the sign “recognition” camera (which is mentioned in the article as part of the system) - it consistently picks up speed signs on side roads (i.e. signs at 90deg from the direction of travel) or slip roads etc. It practically makes the predictive AAC unusable on certain roads, and if this system used the same sources it would be downright dangerous.

Coming down from the A31 Hog's Back into Farnham with ACC on. OK from 60mph to 70mph, then there is a slip to the A331 which appears to have a 40mph limit. Carrying on on the 70mph roads, the car slams the brakes on to reduce to 40mph.  potentially dangerous. As a side issue, does anyone know if, when the ACC applies the brakes, does it activate the brake lights? I could find out if I havde someone follow me, but I don't think I could do it without some assistance

Yes, if ACC applies the brakes, the brake lights come on

But ACC is a radar based distance from vehicle in front, it has nothing to do with road signs, I think you are mixing ACC (adaptive cruise control) with traffic sign recognition, or PCC (predictive cruise control)

However the car gets its information, the set ACC speed matches, as far as I am aware, the speed shown on the dash and changes as it changes. ACC has a radar based spacing from the car in front, but on the occasion above it was on New Year's Eve and the roads were empty.

I think this differs between ACC and pACC - only predictive (pACC) uses the camera and satnav data to adjust the vehicle's speed (on top of the radar information)

I think you can switch it off (the sign recognition function).  It does annoy me too sometimes.

Ordered the Kodiaq L&K 4x4 150ps diesel today here in Finland. Lets see how long the delivery time will be 🙄

Nope. Or, at least, I've not found any way to do so - and believe me, I've looked.

is there another facelift and when do they start building??

Two things on the "assistance" screen under ACC.  Signs and  layout or something.

I've unticked them and will let you know if it works.

Could be that it's picking up info from the map too.  Is it possible to disable the Sat-Nav?  Never use it anyway.

Not a facelift, but specs have been changed

See attached new brochure, the old spec versions are marked only from stock

The new specs are more expensive

No idea on build dates, but document has effective date of 16th December 2021, so if old specs are now only from stock, presumably already discontinued the old.

I cant even remember specs of old. Are there any major changes in specs of sportline then? i 've been through it all but looks the same

Looks the same to me - that's what I've got on order. Just a higher price.

Yep this works perfectly.   Just disable the two options  and Predictive ACC becomes ACC.  Job done.

Couldn’t delete post

Only change I’ve noticed, is brochure implies that the under passenger seat drawer is now omitted from Sportline.

i swear I tried that before and nothing changed. But you’re right, unticking those two options - helpfully* named “Road layout preview” and “Speed limit preview” - works perfectly and turns the too smart for itself pAAC back into just smart enough AAC.

*not really.

Yep, not the most intuitive descriptions are they?

Just been informed by dealer that status of my June 21 order has changed to “factory transit”.
Not sure if this means my Kodiaq is in transit from Kralove airfield, where I believe it’s been parked up since August, back to the factory for completion or if it’s left the factory on way to Emden.

At least something is happening at last, hopefully won’t be long now.

It could mean they've halted production to move the factory... 😂

Hope it is good news for you - you've been a lot more patient than I would have been.

Great news Kenny R. Your patience has been admirable! My order accepted by factory 3 months ago but still no build date; hoping, like Dappernut and Yogi-Bear, that car will arrive without a build date having been communicated. Not in a hurry but what a surprise that would be 🎁

Car has been sat at Emden port for the last month allegedly.  Dealer's assertion that I could have it by the end of December is looking increasingly unlikely. 😉
