Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?

Travel Assist is the self drive package, so sign recognition, adaptive cruise and lane keeping.

Self drive? You're having a laugh. I wouldn't trust it to drive to the end of the road, let alone any further. The sign recognition is great, until it picks up signs from slips roads, roads running parallel, at junctions (on the roads you're not going down)... and with that feeding into the predictive AAC (which is the main difference), it can get pretty random as to what speed you're going to end up doing. The bend/roundabout/junction bit of the pACC isn't too bad - it works from the map data so is a bit more reliable - but it's only really usable with ACC set to sport. In eco/normal, it slows down too much and too early (but with the ACC set to sport, there are other behaviours that I really don't enjoy like getting very close to the car in front before even thinking about slowing down, then hitting the brakes - instead of easing off the gas early and only applying a bit of braking if necessary when coming up behind someone). And the lane keeping doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good as it was in my old bear for some reason... and even with your hands on the wheel, if you're going along a straight bit of road it will moan that you need to take over the steering, even though no steering needs to be done!

Fortunately, you can turn the p bit of the pACC off... but then why pay for the travel assist over just ACC? In my case, it's because it was the only way to get lane assist + ACC, you couldn't order the two options together so had to take the travel assist pack. Don't know if that's still the same or if one or the other isn't even available now...

  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

That’s going to take you well into the upper tax bracket!

Will wait and see what they come back with but like you said, parts of Travel Assist and I added it as it was a cost effective way of getting a couple of things I want. If this was the issue I'd happily drop it to get the car as long as I kept ACC.

It wouldn't have if they built it when they were meant to! 😡

So... Weird news on my car...

No longer "No build week allocated"

Is now in some kind of error state where they intend to freeze orders and due to model year changes manually check through all the ancient orders like mine to see when/if they can build it to spec.

No idea how long this will take. No idea if we will get what we ordered - or even anything.

The dealer is at least going to update me every Monday from now on so I suppose... News.

I have the same, was allocated a build week - now showing “ error!” 😡

What options did you get? Possibly same unavailable thing stopping them

Park assist, 3rd key, rear seat back release, usb socket and winter pack.

So could be park assist, 3rd key, backseat release or winter kit... Not narrowed it down much have we? 🤣

Had a face to face with the dealer today , he said the MY23 Kodiaq will have a revised digital dash on certain models and the withdrawal of the air con in the glovebox. No other changes apparently.

No choccy fridge?! 😓

🤣🤣🤣 That’s exactly what I said!

So error state is less about the year change then and more about a feature I clearly can't have...

I asked that and he said the error is a temporary state that will be amended to a build week when the factory changes over to the MY23.
I’m not happy about losing my mini fridge, I’ve asked if he can give the order a gentle nudge. I live in hope!

What build week did you have before they errored it?

Your dealers explanation doesn’t make sense then as that was well before the MY23 switch over….

I did think that, but who am I to argue?!?!

Thanks for the update. I haven't heard anything so it's good to know what's going on.
Currently on month 11 of waiting, starting to assume it will be a MY23.

You should definitely turn off PACC.  At best it's annoying, at worst it's dangerous.

TA also has traffic jam assist which is quite useful (if you have the auto).

I have gotten used to lane keeping now.  In fact the car can virtually drive itself when used with ACC too.

The one exception is when the bends get "too much" for the lane keeping to handle.

Enjoy the new motor. But don't be too down on Skoda... these are extraordinary times that we're living in. That's not to say they've not ****ed up...

I'm too down on them right now, no change in my "error state" and no explanation why!

Anyone in your position should have done exactly what Spivo did. And I'd have exactly the same sentiments toward the manufacturer as he has.

Just to be clear about this, are we correct in saying that all you've done is order a car i.e you haven't bought it?  If your dealer is refusing to return any deposit then you obviously have a case, which would be a legal matter rather than involving an ombusman, but if your dealer is saying you can have your deposit back in full, I'm stuggling to be sympathetic toward someone who appears to be digging their own grave.

Just cancel and buy another car. Easy Peasy.

I mean I sort of agree. But I think they are on a lease. And the problem is there is very little that can actually offer what a kodiaq does in the same price bracket. I’ve looked recently as mine is delayed but you can’t get a tarraco. The Tiguan allspace is with very limited availability and long wait times for an order. After that you are simply going to have to pay more for a Santa Fe or Sorrento. Or way more for one of the posh ones like a Q7. You can find the GLB but really that’s just a mid size suv with 7 seats in it.

I would have this week moved on if there was anything that was as good as a kodiaq for similar money. But there isn’t. And those who got super duper lease deals will find it even harder.

I do agree though that if I’ve waited a year I’m giving up and moving on. Especially if I have no build date.
