I'm still waiting to get the gas recharged because they had a problem with their aircon machine. It took the gas out, but wouldn't put it back in again. They should be able to finish the job next week. I'm just hoping that it's third visit lucky.

Thought I would update this in case anyone else has the same problem....

It wasn't third time lucky (or 4th, or 5th as it happens), but it was fixed this week - I'm told the fault was with the pump, which got clogged up and stopped working. They said this was a known fault. It seems that because it was clogged up, it also caused the problem taking the gas out & recharging it as well. It's not warm enough to see how well it is working now, but a thermometer went down to about 7C when set at Low (but this was only 5C lower then the outside temp!-)
