1.9 TDi Oil Capacity?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the oil capacity of the 1.9TDi PD100 is please? I suspect it'll be the same as the PD130.

My owners manual seems to have omitted this rather vital piece of information!

Ta,

Its approx 5L if I remember right......

4.5 is the usual amount I get in mine. Can be annoying as you always have a dribble left over from a 5 litre pot, but could be handy for top-ups (like they ever need them :D)

THe pd100 engine was the same. :)

Cheers. :)

I changed the oil in our Vrs yesterday.

I drained the oil cooler aswell this time and refilled. It took 4.5L but I noticed when I checked it last night that it was past the shaded area, it was just at the bend in the dipstick.

Will this be OK or should I suck a litre out so it is not overfilled?

It'll be OK I reckon. :) Draining a litre will send it the other way and there'd be too little in there.

Thanks for that.

i think its nearer 4.3 ltrs that is required

I'd say it was about 4.3 litres that went in. :)

The engine was noticeably loosened up afterwards, might change my intervals and do the oil every 7k instead of every 10k. :)

I drained the oil cooler aswell

How did you do that?

might change my intervals and do the oil every 7k instead of every 10k. :)

i do oil changes on mine at 2.5-3k , but then i get the oil free :D

I'm doing mine every 6k to 7k now. :) Just not taking any chances with "old oil" even if 10k is more than enough for 505.01 stuff.

2.5-3k  That'd be every 1.5 months for me.

Actually, all things considered, I suspect my engine is wearing more slowly than the average as I commute 45 miles each way to work, so the engine is rarely used for short journeys and I can't afford to drive it hard on the commute so it trundles around most of the time. :)
