Rubber mat limitation on e-tec

Featured Replies

I asked my dealer to order me rubber mats for my 1,5etec estate and there was limitation for that specific type

my dealer suggested me to avoid buying after market rubber mats but he didn’t had an explanation for that limitation

Looks like your dealer is right.

The limitation will be to do with  the location of the battery for the hybrid system - it's under the passenger seat so the mats for that side will need to be different to suit.

I believe this is correct, I’ve got the 1.0 etec and there is a big lump under the driver seat (In the UK) which is the battery. The etec version of the mat must be shorter to accommodate the battery, and stop it from slipping/sliding due to the battery cover being very smooth and not getting the grip you would on the carpet.

There is another mat that you might like to get to go with these. It covers the tunnel between the footwells of the rear seats.

Ooh! That looks good. Have you got a link for that tunnel mat?

We have one of those in our Kodiaq...   Very worthwhile.

That was my first thought but my second was if it have something to do with static electric or humidity

Have bought tunnel mats for my current Superb and the wife's Yeti. Keeps the carpets perfect if you have little monkies......sorry children climbing through in the back.

Definitely worth it.

Did anyone manage to source some rubber mats to fit an e-TEC, please? Official or aftermarket would be fine.

Actually I recently bought mine from my Dealer in Greece, they fit perfectly and they are cheap so I would recommend them against aftermarket ones

I fitted the rear and tunnel mats from our Karoq and they fit perfectly. The mats have edges, so dirt and gravel are collected well.
