Recently paid over the odds for a dog of a mk1 elegance 4x4 1.8t Estate/kombi. Was told about a few electrical gremlins and assumed the usual, door loom and microswitch. With no central locking, both rear doors deadlocked and the boot lock seized/ whole boot lid needing replacing. I've dedided to make the most of it🤣. Having watch my dad battle with his ex police vrs deadlocking and joking about turning it into a van, that is exactly what I'm going to do.

So I am wondering, if i replace the drivers front window regulator and motor, and get that working can i remove the rear switches and loom in the dead locked doors before I attempt to weld/get them welded up and remove all glass apart from the boot get panels patched in?  All work will be happening within the month as soon as a dang mk5 golf has been sold and I have space in my garage to do such an adventure.

Would only need central locking and windows for the 2 front doors, and boot.
