Volume won’t change and I’ve got this in my settings

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what it could be. I’ve tried everything. Restarting, soft reset, took out the battery nothing works.

Do you have access to vcds or obdeleven? There might be a fault code stuck that needs erasing.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Looks like Columbus. Do you have a voice control button on the steering wheel? Try that. Either press or long press. I had a similar fault although within android auto. Needed to trigger the voice assistant to get it back.

Fairly sure that is a Amunsden system from 2013->2016 era.  Can OP please press/hold the MENU button and get back to us with the version/firmware/software version of the unit please.  This fault is to do with the number of 'channels' available for control of services.  You have music sound, announcement volume and if you have mirrorlink, there is also a volume channel for that.  I've seen that fault once; a 'hard-reset' of the MIB unit usually fixes it [Press and hold power button on left for 10 seconds until Skoda logo appears]

Hi guys,

already tried all of the above. Even spoke to an ex skoda tech. He said take  the battery terminals off and and connect the two leads (earth and the positive) for 20 secs and that will do a hard reset for the whole car.
that hasn’t worked either. All my setting and saved data is gone but the volume still doesn’t change.

I don’t have access to an obd or a vcd reader

any other suggestions ??

do we know how to update the whole system without an obd ??

Being picky at this point but it's definitely not an Amundsen system. Screen is too big. Just seen it's a 2015 model so most likely to be a Columbus mib1.

It obviously thinks it's stuck in announcement/call output mode. Maybe try making a call with it. Or turning on the traffic announcement.

Hi there,

Has anyone seen a fix to this?

Similar situation with my 2017 kodiaq.

After a new battery was put in, no audio control, all other features work.

In volume settings, it won't allow you to move any levels above 0, itll let you slide the slider, but when you release, it instantly returns to 0.

No fault codes, have tried hard reset, soft reset - pretty much everything except checking speaker drivers
