Featured Replies

Hi I’m alittle confused cause I’m looking to do the pcv delete and I ordered a kit from eBay and apparently it don’t fit my engine ?? Cause I have 2 issues with my car I was thinking if I delete the pcv that would make a big difference but I’m not sure I can do that on my engine tho ? Sorry I’m new here

Based on your photos, you have a TSi, NOT a TFSi. Check your options sticker for the correct engine code.

This might sound stupid but what’s the difference between the engines ?

Tfsi is belt and chain driven. The tsi is only chain driven. The mk5 golf GTI and pre face lift octavia 2 use the tfsi. The mk6 golf GTI and facelift use the tsi.

What issues do you have? Buy a cheap vag code reader if you dont have one. You'll probably have the CCZA engine code if it's a facelift MK2 vrs

if you look at the build sticker in the boot or service book, it clearly says what engine code you have in the car, then your not assuming anything...

Excellent thank you just found the sticker so I have the CCZA engine

...and, back where you came in, that's what you need a pcv delete for. The place you bought the original one for may allow you credit for price less shipping for the "wrong" kit.

So can I still get a delete kit for this engine ?

  • Author

Or could it be still the air flow mass sensor ? It doesn’t come happen all the time only once it’s been driven at say 60-70 for a while then it shows up on dash and runs alittle rough

The CCZA is an EA888 engine the earlier engine is EA113 , pcv delete kits are expensive for the EA888,
If you suspect a PCV related fault, Replacing the PCV for the newest AJ part number is the best bet. I replaced mine and its improved the drive, mine was the factory original from 2011.

However, I'd always advise against throwing parts at something hoping it will cure it. If you can, check for stored fault codes, if the engine light comes on when the issue happens, hopefully it has stored the code.
If you don't have access to a reader or someone who does, You may be better off spending the money on a proper diagnosis by a vw group specialist or dealer

So with the stored code it was the 2 as mentioned p0171 and the p0507 which I’m told could be the pcv valve so I’m guessing I just replace that and see how the car behaves I guess you say the newest AJ part number do you have it ? Would it also fit mine ?

Thanks Daz with them faults given would you say it’s the pcv valve ?

Hi, From the photo, your engine looks like an EA888 series engine. This is a petrol engine to a very advanced design by AUDI/VW in 2007 onwards. It has 16 valves with 2 balancer shafts. From the photo your engine size is 1798cc, if your vehicle is not a VRS model. I hope that this helps. Terry

It is the vrs 2.0 tsi 200bhp give or take standard
