2 problems which are getting on my nerves :)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have superb 2015 (mk3) and there are 2 issues which I really want to solve.

First issue is that I have buzzing noise coming from dashboard. It starts at around 2000 rpm and goes off at around 2500 rpm (+- 200rpm). You can hear this if you check the video on the link.

Anyone has any clue what is causing this? Since temperature drops maybe this sound is less noticeable but in the summer is like driving some old tractor where everything is falling apart :D . The sound I am almost sure it's coming from the inside the car (somewhere near the top speaker is at).

The second problem is if you check picture bellow. This two silver things are to close to each other (there is no gap like on the middle of the door) so they scratch the ends. Also the whole rubber which is holding this silver part is to much to the right on driver side of the door (and the end of it is already missing), so sometimes whole thing slips under the back door part and it un-clips from rubber which holds it (also on picture bellow). As far as I know the whole thing must be moved so the gap from the picture of the mirror is much smaller. The issue appeared this year, but year before the doors where repainted (some scratched them).

Anyone knows what must be done to move this thing?

Thanks

The chrom trim around doors is a known issue from Skoda. Though out of warranty on a MY2015. It may be worth a try to have them changed.

Get a soft block of wood, like pine, about 10cm long and 3cm wide, place it on the end of the trim and gently tap it with a rubber mallet. It only needs to be moved about 3 to 4mm.

The vibration/buzz is well known about but a solution seems to vary. Fuel lines beneath car? Top speaker? Condenser pipes bracket behind infotainment screen?

Isnt the rattles around the top speaker generally associated with the GPS module which is above the MIB moving and making noise?

Since I don't have radio unit with GPS is this module installed despite that? Before I begin to remove radio unit and all this stuff

Good. Just be vary careful and gentle; you want the trim to go round the curve, not off it!

The front and rear anti-roll bar bushes are creaking and squeaking like billyo again, having been replaced just a year ago under warranty; I now fear sleeping Policepersons! 😁

Ok I have managed to push chrom trips on right place, but the rubber bellow is still to much to the back (right). This rubber is catching backdoor chrome trim. So I probably should move whole rubber thing more to the left. How can this be done?

I trimmed off a few mm of the front door strip as I started having the problem a few months ago on my 2016 reg. I also (carefully) took the front chrome off strip and repositioned it as that was catching then realised that the rubber strip was catching behind the rear door chrome and popping it off.

Unfortunately mine was spotted too late as the rear strip had already bent out of shape so every few days I have to push it back into place 😒
