GVN60 Sat Nav Problems

Featured Replies

Hi, I had my local Skoda Dealership install the above (GVN60) sat-nav system in my early (MIB1) Octavia Mk3 in 2019.  After months of problems (Loose cables, blank screens etc.) the unit was replaced under warranty last year.  It has worked well since then (Following a software update by the Dealer) until now that is!  I hope that Garmin/ Kenwood give a 2 year warranty on this unit because it has just failed in what appears to be the same manner as it's predecessor.  I can hear the relay operating when I press and hold the 'Media' button on the Bolero console but the display remains blank.  This causes a problem with the CAN bus which tells me 'Quiescent Current too high' probably meaning that the Sat Nav system is continually drawing power even when 'Off'.

Apologies for a somewhat rambling post, but has anyone got any ideas please?  The car is booked in to Mitchells of Chester this Wednesday (8th Sept) for an investigation, but I was wondering if this was a common issue or am I just 'Lucky'?

Cheers, Alan
