Petrol flap.

Featured Replies

So i went to fill up today and pulled the lever to open the fuel flap and its basically solid took me 5 minutes of pulling as hard as I could on it to finally release the fuel flap any thoughts ???

You can get to the catch mechanism from inside

Also having this issue as I don't have the wee metal bit that makes the cap pop out so I have to jam something under the cap release and then pry it open. :D

I've tried through the boot its connected fine the issue is from the pull catch but csnt see why its happening.

Was the lever very hard to move or did it come all the way up and do nothing?

Yeah when you try to pull its rock solid won't move afraid if I pulled any harder would snap the cable.

if i disconnect the cable from the boot when i then pull on the catch it moves easily which says the cable is all connected but once I connect it back up in the boot when I pull front catch its solid again then lol.

It could be the lever by the seat seized up. Or the cable has gotten nipped somewhere or has corroded up and seized itself.

For the lever, try and get some spray in about it and try working it and see if it frees up. You're probably looking at taking that whole trim panel off to trace and check the cable too. Have you been doing any work along the interior, about the doors that you might have pressed on the cable? That might narrow things down.

Let us know how you get on.

Yeah think it's looking like taking off trim which I was trying to avoid. Will let you know what I find 😀
