Long term stats

Featured Replies

I’ve tried to find how long the ‘long term’  stats is on the Amundsen unit.  The figure had suddenly gone down 5 or 6 mpg, and I blamed the switch to E10 petrol for this.

But I now see its showing only a 100 or so miles, rather than the several thousands previously, so I assume it’s reset itself.

I was hoping it would stay for the length of my ownership.

So is there a way of setting it, or is it pre-programmed at say 6 months, or just random?

I have a Kamiq and mine has reset itself back to zero too. The long term was previously showing info from when the car was brand new in March '20. It did some sort of software update last week and I wondered if that had caused it to reset. Not much point giving you a long term overview if it just resets at random, but I suppose once it's gone it's gone. Pretty annoying all in all.

From my owners manual, the “ long term data” resets after 100 hours driving time.

Well that will teach me to read the manual! 😄

Obviously Skoda's idea of long term and mine are different.

Well, the "100 hours" (actually 99:59) has been the same since the Octavia 1.

Many thanks, Kenny R.  That means it’s not a great deal of use then, as it doesn’t look as if it can be reset manually to a convenient starting point eg holiday mileage.

If you look at the extract of the manual above it says you can manually reset the long term anytime you want.

I just went out to my car to test it and it read 5.2l/100 for the long term and 30 km travelled so had only just reset automatically. I pressed the knurled roller on the steering wheel for a couple of seconds and all the long term data reset to zero.

A 100 hours of driving is usually good for about 6000 km of holiday driving averaging 60kph

We just did 2300km in two weeks in a rental Toyota hybrid in the Northern Territories of Australia with 4.25L/100 returns actual calculated. The longer journeys showed trip average speeds ranging from 100 to 105kph.

The roads were very clear of traffic and some speed limits are up to 130kph, but we were happy not to push too hard and soak up the scenery on the way through.
