Breakdown Cover.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I had a letter through from my AA for my renewal, as usual it has gone up.

I called them to negotiate but they are not willing to match the price they offer to new members (£18).

I currently pay £19.19 for joint cover as a driver or passenger in any vehicle with the following:

  • Roadside Assistance
  • At Home
  • National Relay

The renewal is £36.19 but they will drop to £24... which they can shove!

I can't fault the actual service from the AA, so I would like to stay with them if possible as i have never used the RAC.

Anyone had any issues taking out another policy from the same address in the past?

Soon it will be unlawful to not offer the same price to existing customers as that offered to new customers - or maybe I'm thinking about insurance! 🤔

Be nice. Till then I'm one of those who think that ( as per Nationwide ad), that if they can't match the prices paid to new customers, then it's time to be a new customer. My problem is that my AA COVER IS MY xmas box from my daughter. Every year I've had lower prices on my car insurance, even though at my age it shouls be rising.

I managed to sort it in the end, same cover for the new customer price.

The second person I spoke to was much more helpful and genuinely wanted to help, a welcome change for call center staff 😂

I really need to use the discounts on the app a lot more though, especially the 20% off food as it covers some of the chain pubs I use locally. It would probably pay for the breakdown cover in fairness.

Matt- do not forget the IMO car wash.  £10 washes for £5 once a month =£60 per year. I don't like the food places offered, but my GS loves the cinemas.
