Stupid ME

Featured Replies

Hi all Trying to sort out all the niggles before mot time, I thought I would look at the lights on alarm so my son wouldn`t leave his lights on. anyway,. STUPID ME Removed the dash WITHOUT disconnecting the battery (IDIOT) I have now activated the immobiliser and never having had an electronic key, I have no way to switch it off. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated I have no idea where to start.

Fortunately, the SKODA Gods have taken pity on me and leaving the battery disconnected has resolved the situation. but now I have an airbag Lamp lit. I think the car is trying to do for me. Just replaced the rear springs shock absorbers and shoes and drums and it does this to me . never mind I will sort it one way or another

fabia,s are greedy as soon as you show them some loving and lavish new gifts upon them they want more and start breaking stuff on purpose lol.

On a serious note Wino is your man he seems very knowledgeable on the electrics side of things.

Airbag light will need resetting with VCDS.

Fitted new stereo = wheel bearing needing replaced, added alloy wheels = bad ground caused electrical spasm and dodgy accelerator pedal position sensor. I believe in your theory. :D

It's not a theory, it's fact! 😄

Mine needed a new radiator and I thought I'd give it a new block coolant pipe too but then it thought it wanted a new oil filter housing gasket! It needed a new track rod end on the driver's side and then it decided it wanted new lower arms and joints on both sides. And that's not the end of it.😂

I think at this point only my body shell is original 😂

Mine has done 55,000 miles and belonged to an older gent so everything OEM (had presumably original front discs up until May-ish) is choosing to die currently. Next on the list is some new bushes as it creaks like hell and I live in the speedbump county. :D

Don't have to let it hear you. The bloody things are psychic - they also know when you have money... :D

Very true. Nothing has ever been straightforward with mine, learned a lot though! :D
