Seat belt chime

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals

I’m sure that if I search this amazing site I’ll be able to find a similar thread but I’m idle so I apologise

I have a 2009 Octavia 5 door hatch and the bloody seat belt chime pings when it wants mainly when going round left hand bends but to be honest it can go off when it wants

if I pull on the belt it doesn’t ping and like I say it’s when it wants

can I buy a plug in resistor to tell the car it’s plugged in or do I need a new buckle

thanks

Replace the catch/buckle or you can probably recode the system to remove the seatbelt warning

Or just unplug the connection for the buckle under the seat.  Two minute job and no issues afterwards

Wouldn’t unplugging it just create an open circuit and leave the light on all the time ?

I’ve wrapped a strip of electrical tape around the clip to make it slightly bigger and this seams to have stopped it for

Not the case on my 55 plate......... Not sure about slightly newer cars though.

Pulling the plug worked on my 07.
