The AUX input is just a dumb input so you'd have zero way of selecting anything on the USB.

In other words the only way to hear anything is for AUX to be selected and the other device to be already playing/outputting.

How do you mean " other device"  mate ?

Whatever your source is.

So basically my phone then.  Unless I was to change the head unit  or can I buy a conversion kit to allow the factory head unit to accept USB?

With your car being a 2007 model you might have a MP3 Bolero headunit.

The problem there is you'd have to burn mp3 CD's though.

Maybe time to upgrade?

I can't help with any recommendations as it's not something I've done.

There have been a few people that've upgraded to Android units on here though so hopefully they'll respond.

Hello, John,

I've just purchased one of these to play MP3 files from a USB stick into the Bolero radio, Its got Bluetooth so a phone can be connected as well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313689220180

My melon is well twisted now... sorry if I sound thicker than a whale omelette, but do you just plug that into the lighter socket and it connects to the speakers?

Thanks.

It might be a massive cliche but I have had "Queen Greatest Hits" stuck in the CD player for coming up to three years now and as most radio stations insist on playing modern music, this might be a lifesaving device.

That reminds me of "The Comic Strip Presents - Four Men in A Car" and this exact clip! 😂
