Cupra Wishbone/Console Bushes

Featured Replies

Evening all.

I'm putting down the annoying creaking that has been present since purchasing the car in March as the wishbone/console bushes on the front. I like to think I've done well putting up with it for this long to be honest but enough is enough. I'd like to replace them with the Cupra ones if possible. I'm not quite sure of the ones I'm meant to purchase from t'internet so if someone could advise then I'd be eternally grateful.

Many thanks in advance,

Ryan B :)

This might be of help,

That thread doesnt include psbushings which I have in my mk2 and find them a good job.

Heres the link for the bushes you're after.

Fwiw I think those console bushes were uprated in later years to be an "X" type one that lasts a lot longer than the regular fabia ones, might be worth a look.

I'd get the PSB polybushes if I were you, the Cupra solids are a PIG to fit even with the right tool which is expensive.

Thanks to you both! I'll be getting my local independent to fit them regardless as I don't have the space to complete the work myself, or I'd have done so. I'll get those sent away for ASAP, cheers. :)

Noted, they'll probably outlive the car haha! :D

Formatting.

Polyurethane bushes are almost always much easier to fit compared to normal rubber ones so if you're doing it yourself thats worth keeping in mind too.

Edit:Too slow on the reply.

If you're having an independent do it maybe splurge for the front bush too, while they're that far in I'm sure they won't mind.

If I ever get to the point of renewing bushes on mine i'd go for those PSbushings ones.

If they did top mounts and dogbone bushes I'd have gotten mine from them too.

He means the small bush on the front of the wishbone. To be honest, they hardly ever fail and are not really worth bothering with.

Ordered the bushes people. Thank you all. I'll report back with my findings and results in due time. :)

I'll second this, complete PITA tbh, even with genuine VAG Cupra bushes and the tool.

I've had PSB ones on both of my Fabia vRS, and the black one did 90k miles on them and they never showed any wear, plus you can fit them by hand!!

Thank you for the recommendation on the bushes. I'd have done them myself but my driveway doesn't allow this due to the stone chips. I've got an independent who'll do the job coming up to MOT time. :)

May I humbly suggest a sheet of 18mm ply from your local wickes will transform your driveway into a usable workspace, even a remnant of industrial carpet will do and you can roll it up to store it.

Thank you so much! I'll keep that in mind as there's a few jobs I want to be doing but haven't been able to. :)
