Have I found another bug?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Wondering if someone with an iV running 1804 could confirm something for me.

Had my VRS for 3 weeks now and been playing with the different drive modes.

The other night I left work with a fully charged battery and set the drive mode to Hybrid Sport. I unticked the Auto option to manually reserve as much charge as possible.

Car was set to ACC and I drove home on a mixture of 30 and 60 roads. The car automatically slowing down behind the car in front. I was lucky enough not to come to complete stop until almost at home. The lights were red and car in front stopped as did I. When lights changed to green car in front moved and I didn't. I had hands on the steering wheel and didn't move so pressed down on the accelerator and still nothing.

I tried to manually change it from Sport to Drive, nothing wouldn't change. Tried to change to Neutral, nope wouldn't change. Even tried to turn off the car by pressing the ignition button and still nothing. In the end I had to open and close the drivers door before it would let me switch on the car and allow me to select Drive all while the cars behind me are honking there horns.

I know the drive mode I had it in was extreme but still it shouldn't have locked up like this surely.

Has anyone ever experienced this.

Sorry for the long post but thought you might like to know exactly what I did.

My current e-tec is my 5th Skoda and the only one I have problems with --i get gash warning lights often and my screen locks up so that I have to get out the car, shut the doors and lock it so when I get back in it is ok again.  I had one of the new golf mk 8s and again had that out for two weeks. We need some cars with knobs and buttons rather than driving round in computerized toys --what a joy my mk III Octavia was !

That problem you had has been resolved. My colleague who is a taxi driver like me (the E-Tec hybrid) his alternator failed, his gearbox lever and his computer screen all failed and had to be renewed. My car, I got an overheating gearbox. 8 months old and 26,000 miles.  I was only driving at 60mph on my own along the M4. It just started overheating and smoking
