Featured Replies

Ok rear passenger side lights; i only have the rear side light and indicator working .No brake light no revese and no fog light which is same bulb as side lights .reverse light is due to wiring to switch on gearbox .All bulbs and fuses have been replaced ,any pointers to cause please.

No foglight on nearside is normal/correct, there's no wire to it.

Brake light, swap bulbs across so working offside one is on nearside and vice versa. Check now what works/doesn't.

ok will try later on with the bulb .So no fog light on passenger side so why have a twin filament bulb on that side and is it possible to get that side working by wiring to other side .

There's nothing to be gained by wiring it in. In fact both will be very slightly dimmer, and the fuse and switch are more likely to fail.

Yes, looks like wiring or bulb holder contact problem.

just another question you say only one  rear fog light does this apply to the reversing lights as well?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you should have two working reversing lights.  Black/blue wires feeding into pin 4 of the connector each side.

ok must have dodgy wiring on rear as just fitted new switch and only one side working all new bulbs .O what fun lol

AFAIK you should have two reversing lights. :)

Are you sure you have the correct bulbs in? It has been known for people to jam standard stop/tail bulbs in, but the Fabia uses offset pin 566 bulbs - 12v 21/4 watt.

Mk1 fabia has 2 reversing lights, mine does anyway.

Mk2 only has the one reverse light.

waiting for my nepthew as he's an auto electrican will post results after he's had a tinker

Take a wee look at the connector to the light unit and make sure there is no corrosion - Earth point and also the bulb holders themselves could be all corrosion.

Damp plays havoc with an older cars electrics !
