I have had the Connect Lite dongle on my car for sometime. I have accumulated over 25,000 points. My question is are these points redeemable and how and for what?

 

My car was in for an MoT today and while there I asked these questions and was told that this is a Skoda UK "thing" and not a dealer "thing". 

 

Any answers/advice would be most welcome.

 

Another question is if the dongle is removed and replaced will it automatically reconnect with the phone App or do I have to do anything.

I've taken mine out and put it back a few times and it  connects fine. I don't think you get anything for points,they're a bit pointless.

you can unlock additional information boxes on the trip summary cards.

 

Push the plus button and it will show you available parameters to display. Adding oil temp "cost" 800 points and coolant temperature another 800 points.

 

I haven't found anything else to do with them.

I haven't found the plus button yet.

 

Do I have to be connected to the car for it to appear?

i didn't have to have it connected.

 

Go to "trips" and select a trip.

 

on my screen it shows a map at the top of the screen with the score (circle with a percentage score in it), and a couple of boxes given the start and finish points.

Under that there are boxes showing start and end mileage, avg speed and other things.

at the bottom of the list (you may need to scroll a bit) is a box with a Plus in to and the word "add" Tap that & you'll see the parameters you can unlock and the number of points required to unlock them.

 

the points are removed from your account, so i added as many as i could & knocked my status right back to the beginning

Thanks. Didn't expect it (or see it) in Trips and then "Widgets". 

 

I have unlocked everything I could. I still have nearly 18,000 points left with nothing to spend them on. It did however reduce me from "Silver" to "Bronze".

👍 - i don't know what else  can be done with the points - you've got 1000's more than me 😉 poke around the app & see if there's other unlockable things!. I'm back at bronze, so I'll be a while

 

Let's hope someone else here will have some idea.
